Arbutus Point Campground

A great place to relax and unwind!

Saturna island and Arbutus Campground are both amazing. Can’t think of a better vacation and spot to centre our adventures from around Saturna. 10/10!

We recently had the pleasure of staying a couple nights at the Arbutus camp grounds on Saturna Island and it was a nice little place to camp,and the view was outstanding!we tented it,but they do have cabins also if outside is not your first choice.The owners were all kind and friendly and me and my wife had a good couple nights at the campgrounds.ide recomend the campground as a great option for families wanting to explore Saturna island.

On arrival we were confused as to where the campsite was, as we felt we were in the parking lot. However, to our surprise, we were in fact in the campsite. When we questioned the owner about this being a wilderness campsite, she replied that in fact it was actually not one. She stated that it was a "convenience campground." A place to sleep while you explore the island is what she said. We were once again very surprised. She asked us if we had seen the website pictures, which we had, and conveyed that it looked nice in the photos. She said, "well that's what it looks like when nobody's here." We were disappointed. With a full campground, our experience was tents five feet apart, no privacy, and were kept up by a snoring camper right next to us. Two groups of campers showed up on the second night at 10pm to set up, which was surprising, considering the quiet hours are 10pm - 7am. Granted they were trying to be quiet, however because the campsite is designed in such a congested way, we could clearly hear them, and we were distracted by their bright flashlights and car noises as they unpacked. Furthermore, the hot water for the washing station was never hot. The composting toilet was very smelly, and requires an air freshener. There is a street light on the road right next to the campground, which shines into your tent all night long. The location is right next to the ferry, main road, and sea plane traffic. The ocean view is misleading, as there are a row of thick trees obstructing the view. The only positive aspect we experienced here was that the wifi is very good, and worked well for my video conference call. However, all of this for $55/night for two tents. This is robbery! We suggest $20/night and an additional $10/night for an extra tent. This is much more reflective of what you are receiving at this campground. It's a good thing we didn't need parking, because that is an additional fee per night. If you are looking for a quiet stay in a beautiful location for good value, this is NOT it. That said, Saturna Island itself is magical - next time we would stay elsewhere.

A small group of us stayed here while on a bike camping trip. It’s close to the ferry terminal so for us it made the perfect base camp. They also had showers and wifi which was great after a long day of biking. Loved it!!

Spent a serene morning on the back deck overlooking the dock. Extremely accommodating after catastrophic air mattress fail! Thank you so much for a fabulous stay. Definitely will return soon.

Perfect location, just a few minutes walk off the ferry. Owners were helpful and left a guide to the island with lots of information on the island. Other campers were respectful and quiet during quiet hours. Site #1 had a beautiful water view!
