Great service, will absolutely be going back for all of my car needs. Have been looking for a trustworthy mechanic and have now found the spot.

I bought a vehicle from a person who had older American vehicles on Angelo's lot. The car was inspected for safety by Angelo and obviously passed despite having oil leaking from it and having the wrong size battery installed. I have had to replace the battery three times in just over four years and Angelo feels it is my fault since I don't drive enough. He assumes he knows my driving habits from the odometer. I do short runs but every day. The problem with the battery occurs in warmer winter weather yet it starts in -40c as it did last year with no issues. If you go to the shop, make sure you know a thing or two about cars and check the cost of repairs. It adds up very quickly. My first battery replacement cost me well over $300.00 including taxes on towing charges which had already been taxed. This place had a good reputation some years back, but like so much in society, things change and those who could be trusted are beginning to fail their client base.

I went there to get a safety inspection for my mom’s car, which was still under a lease term with Audi. The car had been serviced 2 weeks prior to my visit and everything was fine. When they asked me and told me that I β€œjust” need to change the breaks I was shocked! I went down there and told them Im sure everything is alright we just had this car serviced; they got a little nervous and said β€œeventually” you need to change the breaks so we can do it now and pass the inspection. So basically they tried to corner me to pay them money that was not necessary at the time to pass the inspection. They also charged me for the inspection 80$ (the same amount Canadian Tire later charged me in addition to giving me the documents!!!). So 3 days later I booked an appointment with Canadian tire and they provided me with the safety inspection no problem !!! They said you have more than enough (more than 4mm which is required by guidelines) on the breaks. It’s a shame that local mechanics think it’s still 1970s and they are the only ones in town. People like these guys don’t deserve my trust. So I think they will first try to overcharge you and if it didn’t work they’ll go for plan B.

Looks like I'm going against the majority here, but I can only go off my own personal experience. I lived at Brunswick/Dupont at the time and my car failed to start one morning. Naturally, I took it the local mechanic. It ended up being the Crank Position Sensor. Got the car back, everything was fine until I tried going beyond 6k RPM; car just hesitated. Took the car back and was told the sensor that was ordered was was for the 1.6L Toyota Corolla (I have 1.8L XRS model) Angelo would need to order the correct sensor. OK, fine. not a problem... HOWEVER, I was told that the previous sensor could not be returned, and that I would have to incur the charge for the new sensor ($150), but he would not charge me labor...... Wow.. well thank you kind sir!! Why am I responsible for incurring this charge when YOU'RE the mechanic? Should you not know what order to place based on the car you're working on? If I wasn't such a shy kid back then, I would have pushed back. I'm glad the majority has had a pleasant experience -- I still have the part if anyone is interested! Would not go back, unfortunately.

My experience with this mechanic shop was excellent - 5 Stars! My car is an older BMW and Angelo Auto Repair was recommended to me because of his experience with import cars. Angelo was very courteous, professional and knowledgable. Most of all he was fair with the costs of his services and I really appreciated that. Thanks Angelo. I highly recommend this shop.

Wanted to like this place as they're local and seemed competent at first. Was told I could drop the car anytime after 7AM, arrived at 7, waited till 730, then left the vehicle with keys and a note in the mailbox. Should have seen this as a tip-off. Owner diagnosed the vehicle in a day and I ordered parts, and was told "sometime next week" it would be ready. Called on the Friday and was told "early next week" it would be ready. Called the following Tuesday and was told "It should be ready by Friday". When I said "I need it by Friday, so can you commit to having it ready" I was told "Hey, I can't commit to that". So we're clear, the owner here wasn't waiting on parts, but was unwilling to commit to doing 10 or so hours of work within three days, despite having told me the car would be ready a week ago. Right now I'm making arrangements to tow the car to a competent mechanic.
