Cathy gave me the best nail experience ever, was quick but paid attention to detail and did exactly what i wanted. Usually you have some sort of discomfort during filing but I had next to none. She’s amazing at what she does! Professional & helpful girls!

at first it was great! i loved the design they were doing. until they wanted to charge me $100. i go to aloha southdale and i could have gotten the same thing for $65. she dremolled my finger and it hurt, i jumped. i got home and noticed my finger was a bit purple, went to bed and thought nothing of it. then came this morning. my finger is infected because of the lack of cleanliness. thanks, won’t be coming here again

Tran does my toenails and she’s a perfectionist she always does such an excellent job !! I love the girl that works at the front desk she’s so friendly and always laughing and smiling always talks to me when I come in. This is the best place in the city by far. The girl that does my nails, (acrylic ) her name is Tao she’s the best too, and also a perfectionist!! I recommend these two ladies!! Keep up the good work ladies!

I had a sub-par experience at a local Winnipeg nail salon recently. When I noticed mistakes they had made, I kindly explained how they could correct and execute my desired design satisfactorily...and was still left disappointed with the final product. When I pointed out what I wasn't happy with, they provided excuses as to why their work did not meet my expectations. I paid for their time, even left a generous tip, but swore to myself I wouldn't ever go back. With my tail between my legs, I sulked for a bit but then decided I would try a place that I often drove past, which is Aloha Nails on St. Mary's Road. Did not disappoint! In fact, from the moment I walked in the door, I was met with a bright "Hi! How are you?" and was quickly seated once I explained what I wanted done. I decided to pick a different colour and design, and they went to work. I am happy to say that I am totally over the moon with the results. My nail technician, Twa (sorry if I misspelled your name, beautiful), was a miracle worker in removing the hack job state my nails were in, sanding, re-filling and filing them to absolute perfection. And she followed the picture provided to a T! I think I found my little piece of manicure heaven here in St. Vital. There is no question that I will be returning to their location when I'm due for my next fill and design. Thank you, Aloha Nails on St. Mary's Road!!!

Okay, so I read reviews before I went and believed I would be happy with my experience but unfortunately that was not the case. To begin with, I got in and was greeted and ushered in right away, it was very prompt service. I was told we would start with nail extension and get a pedicure after, neither here nor there, I was fine with that and I appreciated the clarity. It was honestly a good start but I did feel rushed having color choices placed before me and being asked to choose a color before I even sat down (I do know at some places you do choose first but this wasn't off a wall, it was off a tree sort of thing). Over the phone, I had said nail extension but did not specify what type and was not asked. I know there is a $20 difference but I was not even given an option, acrylic was being started before I had even picked a color. Some would say, very efficient and be pleased, I was not so impressed as I didn't specify over the phone as I was hoping to get more information. I had never had acrylic before, always having gel nails but was curious about the gel they used as it sounded better on the website so had assumed I could find out more and then decide...clearly that was not the case. I didn't have a chance to ask because a discussion about nail art was being had before I could say anything else. I had wanted actual hand-painted nail art which is apparently not commonly done at this location. Initially, I was quoted $20 per nail for the butterfly pattern I wanted. This was a fair bit more than expected and so it did get us into much more of a discussion. I changed the pattern I wanted and thought that was sorted. Unfortunately, things got worse from there. The tech working on my nails had made it look a lot different from the image and while I don't expect perfection my cartoon-looking image became a real-looking butterfly. Honestly, this upset me but only because of the discussion we began with, the woman tried and through the further discussion, I came to realize that hand painting just isn't what they tend to do so this upset me because I felt trapped at this point but I am not upset with them for having a different skill set. Hand painting is not what they encourage so they are not heavily practiced. I was not happy that I was not getting what I wanted when paying a fair bit but I do understand the other perspective on this. I did not like feeling mislead and so it did leave a bad taste in my mouth but this alone would not have caused long-lasting negativity in me. The other part of this experience I did not appreciate was the finishing up...my hands were gross from the sanding down of the nails and at no point was I sent to wash them or have them cleaned (I am used to them bringing a warm wet cloth to wipe my hands down), I had to ask to go wash them. The part I found strange though was they just squeezed some lotion on for me to rub in my dirty hands! Who puts lotion on dirty hands and don't they normally do an extremely brief hand massage with it? From there, I went to get a pedi but they have limited regular colors (I never put shellac on my toes) and so once again did not get what I wanted. The pedicure itself was very basic but not bad. In fairness, the nails were done well which is ironic as I will likely repaint them. I did not feel they did the best on the bottom of my feet but it was fine. I do want to give credit to the tech who was polite. I should also mention that there was a woman that seemed to be in charge and was meant to show me what they could do for me since they were not able to do as I requested but she never did. I left paying $110 which is not horrific for Canada but not wanting any of it. I did not realize how unhappy I was until I left. My nails do not feel smooth on the edge and some look like they were not freshly done. I have only shown two fingers in the photo but notice how the nail starts much further from the cuticle in one...that inconsistency continues. Overall, I may return for them to fix it but I will not bring them my business again.

Definitely a must! I've gone to many places but nothing quite compares. After trying other places around the city and being disappointed, I discovered Aloha on St. Mary's was the place to get shellac and Acrylic nails that were top notch. ??They do a phenomenal job and the service is great too. I see Thao and she's amazing! Go check her out!

Today I visited this centre and had an amazing experience. I got my nail extensions done and they turned out to be so pretty except I did find them a little too expensive! However, they were done by Thao and I must say she is really kind and sweet. Loved it β™₯️
