Edit: just stopped in to grab a case of beer with my brother and the cashier was very rude to both of use when asking for ID. Also everything is much more expensive than the Barclay beer and wine on stamp Ave.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm 36 have grey hair and just got a new license photo twiwtwo ago the 20 something woman at the counter demanded two pieces of ID to Buy An 8 dollar bottle of COOKING WINE! I understand the need to ID people but maybe get a person who isn't just trying to abuse the only bit if authority they will ever have in life. Try one of our baby other liquor stores in Port Alberni they have adults working

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Decent selection of Craft Beer but the bulk of it is on non-refrigerated shelves which is begging for deterioration in quality. They really need to step up their game.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good selection but remember to bring 2 pieces of ID. Apparently my 40 something husband's - who most definitely does not look like a teenager - passport was not enough. He needed another piece of ID too. So we went to the BC liquor store instead. Some of the staff are really rude but it's not like I go there to make friends.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sort of like a scene straight out of the Matrix. A non descript building on the outside but a comfortable boutique on the inside. All the standards are there as they should be. It is the unique brands, and special editions that add to the relaxed atmosphere in the store. It is both an easy place to find what you need and a luxurious journey of discovery not unlike browsing the stacks of a library in search of something new to dive into. The most interesting discovery was the many local products.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Why only 2 stars, you wonder? Well for starters they are pricey and NOT competitive with the local BC Liquor Store or even some of the other local private outlets....Then you have "indifferent staff" (I'm reluctant to say rude)....and the parking is a PITA. Considering it's now in the Alberni District Co-Op's business portfolio, I would hope for an improvement. Still waiting!
