★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent sales team, project management, and support, the recent purchase of ADFLOW by American signage behemoth Daktronics has added more more reach and technical options for customers. It will be interesting to see what happens after the original partners are legally able to 'cash out' after their sale agreement comes to term, and what this will mean for the company. Definitely a good alternative to Cineplex or Omnivex should a managed SaaS option be required.
On the other hand if cost or the necessity for data and content remain outside of the US (as their servers were primarily based in the US, opening the door to FISA section 702 concerns) open source options such as Xibo would be more appropriate as the server software can be downloaded and run on private servers (or within Docker containers) for free. Cheaper hardware running Android can also be used for a one-time, per-screen fee allowing more flexibility to be utilized for simple solutions.
Like DropBox vs. OwnCloud, Slack vs. Mattersmost, GitHub or BitBucket vs. GitLab, ADFLOW is a great solution for a professionally managed, high-uptime signage deployment. However should a lower cost, privately managed solution be required there are many excellent open source solutions available.
