A local hidden treasure nestled in South Edmonton’s mature Ritchie neighbourhood, ACME Meat Market is the local butcher shop that you have been looking for. ACME was at its location at 95th Street and 76th Avenue since 1986, but as of March 2017 we have moved across the street into a brand new space at Ritchie Market!
If you want to learn about meat, how to purchase it, what’s a good buy today, how to cook it, start a relationship with your butcher. We are the folks who know and will be glad to help if you just ask.
The rich sense of history at ACME Meat Market is being carried on by the Meyers, the only owner not in the Pheasy or Eldridge families since it was founded in 1921. As a family-owned business, ACME Meats has forever strived to provide its customers with quality products. Since having the torch passed back in 2008, owner Corey Meyer, along with his friendly wife Amanda and his highly skilled staff, continue on the tradition, providing loyal customers with a very high standard of quality products and services. Corey, a long-time employee of ACME Meats is no stranger to the meat business, being born of skilled German-trained meat cutters, with his father even owning his own reputable butcher shop (Meyer’s Meats) in Edmonton for many years prior. Some may say it was in his blood!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ive been dying to try a standing rib roast on the BBQ for a while and I struck out at Costco and Fresons Bros. I heard of Acme online so I decided to try it. The service was excellent. The butcher explain to me the 2-3 bone serving size. It was cool to see them prep the cut right in front of you. I can't compare prices however I knew I was looking for a fairly price cut meat. If you're looking for freshness and quality I would highly recommend Acme. Also go early it bit busy fast!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Way overpriced and not very clean. I watched as the “butcher” weighed raw meat on the scale by the cash register with nothing underneath it. He never wiped it and neither did any of the others. Nearly twice the price for the cuts I wanted than I ended up paying at my own butcher. Do yourself a favor and make the drive to Old Country Sausage in Bruderheim, call ahead and they can normally get you what you want. Or if you don’t want to drive far just go to Costco instead of throwing your money away, it’s every bit as “local”.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love Acme. It was recommended to me 4 or 5 years ago. I have been a faithful customer ever since. The staff are very friendly polite and helpful. If you don’t see it in the case there’s a chance that they have some of what your looking for in the refrigerator. If not you can order and they’ll have it in a reasonable time. I don’t buy my meat anywhere else and I highly recommend this place to everyone. If you’re not getting your meat at Acme you’re not getting quality LOCAL meat.

The guy there did such an amazing Job with the trimming!. All i had to do was put some rub and throw in the Smoker. Very high quality meat.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My bf told me to go here instead of real deal meats, they're 1 lb of hamburger was sooo small, I've been there quiet abit, the other day I was in there to grab some chicken and back bacon, since the Alberta provincial government dropped all mandates I didn't wear a mask, a gentleman was very kind and helped me get my order, as I was waiting for the gentleman to bring me my order this other guy who was weighing a tub of meat proceeded to tell me there was masks at transcend, he was really rude. So as the other gentleman brought me my order and I paid I told him thank you for not infringing on my civil rights, and he said no problem have a wonderful day.
I will not be shopping here again

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went to Acme for the first time today and I was blown away by the customer service I received. Everyone was polite and super helpful. Having never been to a proper butchers before I was not sure what to expect, but I had a great experience. Yes, the prices are higher, but the meat is better quality and from local farmers. I also like their freezer where the meat is priced 20% off. Great for looking for more budget friendly pieces of meat. I will certainly be back in the future!
