Above and Beyond Concepts

We recently had our floors redone with Above and Beyond and couldn’t be happier with the results. Jenn and her team were great to work with and were very helpful and professional. We had a few small concerns that were dealt with promptly and efficiently. Our house looks incredible and I would definitely recommend them and look to them for future projects.

My partner and I recently purchased a home in North Vancouver and decided we wanted to renovate the home prior to moving in. As this was our first purchase, we had a limited budget and a laundry list of items we wanted to change. We met with three different contractors before speaking with Brad, Will and the team, but were immediately impressed at their level of professionalism, their candor and their willing to go 'above and beyond' for us. Immediately after meeting, Brad was prompt about sending a quote through and explaining what we could expect should we decide to move ahead. It took a weight off our shoulders to know that the Above and Beyond team heard us, were understanding and respectful of our budget and time considerations, and were as enthusiastic about the project as we were. Of course, with any renovation to an old home, we discovered a few minor surprises but each time, we received a prompt phone call from Will to explain next steps and to provide us with a recommendation. Each time, our immediate question was 'How much?' and not only did the team give us honest feedback as if it was their home, but they worked with us to save costs elsewhere in the project and maximize our budget as much as possible. After just 6 weeks, we now have new floors, a brand new kitchen, a new bathroom, updated plumbing, updated electrical and a home that we are proud of. We would absolutely recommend Above and Beyond to anybody that is hoping to do a remodel big or small.

I hired A&B Concepts to install new laminate flooring in my condo. While the quote provided was not cheap, I was promised professional installers that do quality work. I had worked with Brad previously who had done a good job. Unfortunately, that’s far from the experience that I had with A&B this time. The flooring installers was Matt at Van Floors Ltd. The project began on time and finished as promised but that’s about all that went right with this project. Prior to the flooring installers showing up, the ceilings and walls were all redone. After Matt and his team left, I discovered damage to the newly redone ceiling, there was a huge gash in the sliding screen door, damage to the door frames, damage to the drywall (way above the baseboard line) and large scratches to the sliding glass door where the laminate flooring was cut. The baseboard heaters that were removed during installation were left loosely on the ground. The laminate cuts were slanted along the edge close to the wall revealing the blue underlay underneath. They could not even be bothered to clean up after themselves leaving garbage behind when they left. This was all witnessed by a few people that saw the state of the condo before Brad’s company showed up and after. I brought this up to team but received little support even though they knew I had very tight timelines for completion of this project. There was radio silence from Jenn and Brad for close to a month essentially leaving it to me to fix the problems they caused. When they did contact me again, it was to collect on their final invoice. They never took accountability for the issues they caused throughout the apartment and I did not get customer support when I needed it most. I was double charged for some items by the installer. What should have been a simple flooring remodel project turned into a nightmare that caused a lot of unnecessary stress and anxiety. This project definitely didn’t have the professional installation that was quoted. In my experience this company does not care about it’s customers or if they do its selective. Financially this project cost much more than budgeted due to the issues caused and their unwillingness to rectify them in a timely manner. I regret hiring A&B concepts for this project and would not recommend them.

Above and Beyond did a great job installing new flooring in our apartment. The floor is beautiful, very well done, and the place was left clean and tidy. We were away while the work was being done but Jenn was fantastic keeping in touch and updating us on the progress. She even arranged for a plumber to do a small, unrelated job in our place. Great, thoughtful service!

I don’t often take the time to write reviews but Brad you truly went above and beyond for us. I am so pleased with our new carpet and it was such an easy process from start to finish. Brad was so quick to reply to my messages and the entire team was a joy to deal with! I’m not usually comfortable having people I don’t know in my home but after meeting Brad I knew I could trust him and his team. I happily ran errands while two very professional, kind, friendly installers did a great job in the exact time frame they anticipated. Highly recommend! Thanks so much!

We contracted Above and Beyond Concepts to install new laminate flooring in our apartment. We were very glad we chose to work with this company because everything was delivered exactly as promised. The company kept to the schedule we proposed and the work was finished on time. Tel, the flooring installer the company sent to work in our apartment is a master at his craft and we have no complaints about his work. Everyone in the company was a pleasure to work with. Everything was explained clearly at the start and there were no negative surprises along the way. We would not hesitate to recommend Above and Beyond Concepts to anyone looking to have their floors re-done.

Jenn Brooks at Above & Beyond was our flooring rep who attended with the floor installer we had chosen to assist us in choosing our Engineered hardwood flooring we were installing throughout the house. She recommended a Quebec company's flooring which she felt was superior in quality to others locally available. The installer measured our floor space to estimate how much wood to order. Jenn said it would arrive in 5-6 weeks, which it did. The installer came by our home to begin demolition of our old flooring which was done in 1.5 days. We had an issue with the installer though that caused us to part ways with him. I called Jenn to ask for her assistance in finding us another installer she worked with who could do the job quickly as our wood had been delivered and was taking up all the space in our garage. She told me to leave it with her and she'd see what she could do. Within 4 hours she asked if Matt (another installer) could see us that evening to give a quote and determine if he and his team could do what the other installer could not. He agreed it would be fine and he was to start the job in 5 days from then. We were very happy with this team who finished the job quickly and the flooring suggested by Jenn is amazing. We love our floors. Thank you to Jenn for saving the day for us with a reliable rescue team who met all our needs. She later also helped get us a stain repair kit from the Flooring manufacturer and is delivering the kit to us next week. Highly recommended working with Above and Beyond Concepts.

Brad and his team were great to work with when we decided to change the carpet throughout our home. Their amount of knowledge about the different products they offered and the informative delivery of their opinion on the right product for our needs made the decision so simple and easy. Preference of colour was the only part left to decide, and with many samples to choose from it only made sense to see them in their dedicated rooms before choosing. Not to our surprise Brad's experience shone through again when he brought an extra sample just in case this shade worked better for the space, and he was right. We love the carpet option and underlay we chose, and often get compliments from guests on how comfortable it is to walk on. The Installers were very professional, very quick, and being local to our neighbourhood we had a few great conversations that day. We had a great experience with Brad and his team, and I recommend Above & Beyond to any of my Real Estate clients who are considering any upgrades or repairs to their homes. Thanks Brad & Team!
