Abitt Like Home Kennels was founded in 1992 with the training and breeding of English Springer Spaniels. We started our all breed dog boarding facility in 1997 and then expanded our services in 2005 to include grooming. Since then we have grown even more and we now offer cat boarding in our newly built cat building, and English Cocker Spaniels have been added to our training and breeding program.

Casey and Carol Butz
Abitt Like Home Kennels and its owners Casey and Carol Butz are long-standing registered members of the Canadian Kennel Club. We love working with and taking care of each of the dogs and cats and focus our energy on maintaining a high-quality pet care facility. Casey and Carol carefully provide the daily care of your pets in conjunction with our staff. All of us are very familiar with each pet that stays with us. Your dog or cat will enjoy being welcomed by a familiar and friendly face visit after visit.

Rachel
Rachel works with us full time. When she's not caring for all the dogs and cats at Abitt Like Home, she's busy planning her next trip around the world. She has two cute pups named Zeke and Waffles.
Josh
Josh might tell you, "it feels like I've been here my whole life!" He plays hockey and lacrosse. In September he will be going to school for Building Construction Engineering at NAIT. He has a dog named Mud!
Hayley
Hayley's been working with us as long as Josh has. Hayley rides horses, she also plays hockey and rugby. She's completing her first year at Faculte St. Jean in Business. She has two dogs named Jess and Juno.
Liam
Liam has been working part-time with us for 3 years. Liam plays lacrosse, he's in grade 11.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The staff are pleasant and it seems like a good place. Came recommended to me. Took our two girls there for a trial for a couple of days. My dogs came away with runny eyes and sneezing... I thought it was a "one off" and gave them another try. Our dogs were extremely sick and cost me hundreds of dollars. My vet was quite upset with me for taking the there and that both of my usually very healthy girls got a bacterial infection that if I would have left untouched could have caused life altering problems. Please don't go there.
Since I have mentioned this to others; I have heard bad stories from other pup parents.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I absolutely cannot say enough about Colby the groomer. We have a very timid rescue who reacts aggressively to brushing. Colby took her time throughout the day, giving her long breaks and using the brush as little as possible. She looks amazing (smells great) and came home settled.

Our dog was walking on thin ice and it was sad because we could no longer trust her around people. I have to say they did an excellent job! She is well behaved and she can’t wait to meet new people now! Thank you :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Now the only place we will take our pups for daycare. They have so much space outside for the dogs to run, not like the places in the city. They were very reasonably priced and even managed to cut one of our dog's nails who is super strong and hates it without any issues. Excellent!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm glad my wife found this place. We are very picky on where to take our pups. This place has fantastic prices, the staff are super friendly and the facilities look clean and fully stocked to take care of your pups.
It might be a tad out of the way for people in edmonton but its worth the trip. Plus I actually like the fact that its a bit outside the city as I find that feels safer for the dogs. Highly recommend.
