Abbotsford Dog & Cat Grooming

We took our puppy to this groomer to get a shave in the beginning of the terrible heatwave in Vancouver. They charged us $50 extra because it was a same-day appointment. We were initially grateful that we found a place to have our puppy groomed since he was suffering so badly in the heat. Unfortunately the service we received beyond that point was subpar. When we dropped off our puppy the groomer was very cold and abrupt. I figured she has just had a long day and we were all grumpy due to the extreme heat so I let this go. When we came to pick up our puppy the groomer reported that he barked, squirmed, and even nipped throughout the treatment. This is very unusual behaviour for our puppy. He has been groomed several times in the past and his previous groomers always said he handled the grooming very well. Recently he went to a brand new vet clinic where they shaved a patch of his fur and cleaned a painful rash and the vet said he sat quietly through that uncomfortable treatment. Since our puppy is always very sweet and comfortable being touched and handled even by new people I am concerned about why he might have had that response to this groomer. Considering the groomer's behaviour when we dropped him off I fear they may have rushed through the treatment and mishandled him in the process. Thankfully I haven't found any cuts or bruises on his body. After we brought our puppy home we noticed several long patches of his fur particularly between his legs that were missed. There is also a spot on the side of his belly that is completely shaved bald. The trim around his face was also done completely differently than the pictures we showed them. In the end I am grateful that this wasn't his first experience with being groomed since he may have been permanently traumatized if that were the case.

We had our dog groomed here twice and had great experience both times. I really appreciated them allowing me to drop her off before work and picking her up afterwards. My dog was very happy with her grooming (especially with all this current heat wave). Will be booking her in for another groom in a few months :)

I was so worried about my lil Chi-Chi. I call her velcro because everything sticks onto her during our adventures. I've had her groomed plenty, yet still needed to find THE one place for her specific needs. I finally found them. I was ecstatic to see how Abbotsford Dog & Cat Grooming was able to make her beautiful again without compromising her length. Prices are perfect in order to continue maintenance.

I brought my 1 year old ragdoll cat in to be groomed. He was dematted and bathed, as well as his nails trimmed. I told deb she could do whatever she thinks is needed. He was so happy after he went, he was meowing scared the whole way there but the drive home he was PURRING lol. He’s much happier now without Mats in his fur of course and he smells so nice. I’m very happy I brought him and will bring him again ☺️

When I first made the appointment for my cat, the staff member was very friendly and professional; however, when dropping off my cat, they barely gave me the time of day and customer service was very lacking. I was very hesitant to leave my cat. When I picked him up, he was already in his crate and they quickly took my money. When I got home, I was shocked to see the grooming job. I had asked for a belly trim and what I saw was all my cats fur shaved off his belly. It looks terrible and uneven. Also, whatever shampoo they used on my cat is so strong that he is constantly trying to lick the smell off his body. This was not a great experience at all and I won’t be returning.

We have been using Abbotsford Dog & Cat Grooming for both of our Papillons and our cats since we moved to Abbotsford 3 years ago. The whole team is phenomenal. This is a very professional run family business and they have taken great care of all of our pets. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

After trying many different ways (even the peanutbutter on the forehead) we could not properly trim our dog's nails. I finally called this place to inquire about dog nail trimming services and was able to book an appointment same day. The nail trim was on time and super quick and they were able to professionally handle our dog's strong dislike to this being done to him. The price was very reasonable and we will definitely be returning.

Great first experience! I took my one year old ragdoll cat to get groomed for the first time. He came home looking amazing! His coat smelt great. Nails trimmed perfect. He didn't seem nervous at all when he came home. I will definitely be coming back!
