I can not speak to how they treat local customers but as far as I can tell, if he's not going to make money on you, he's not interested in serving you.

I’d give it five stars but the shop rate is a little steep. Need Trailer work or brake work done with a good parts inventory this place is a good option.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I can not count the number of times I have driven all around the city to look for a specific bolt type or unique size or shape. I did this yesterday, looking for a unique size and shape U-bolt for my airbag mounts. I was referred to A V Brake and they had no problem making me a couple U-bolts. It only took a couple minutes, and they were not overly expensive.
A V Brake was able to make me a custom order, for a fair price, and did it in minutes. Nothing to complain about there. I did not browse the entire shop, as I got what I needed quickly, but it appeared to have lots of stuff I will undoubtedly need in the future. I am happy knowing that I can go here to get U-bolts bent. I will be back many times.
