4th Street Dental - Calgary

I am an indigenous woman who just moved into the area 1 year ago I came here. My mother gets dental work here and so does my sister. I am glad they have had good experiences here but I have not. I am new to living downtown. I have a status card and I am a Treaty Indian therefore at certain dentists that understand (Treaty Rights) I am eligible for (1) free tooth cleaning a year and an annual checkup along with X rays free of charge. As a Treaty Indian there are not many benefits which is fine as I am able to afford these treatments as of now. I came here for a check up and at the end of my check up they let me go home and didn’t inform me that the payment didn’t go thru yet I was invited me back for another (x ray) treatment and cleaning. It wasn’t until I was finished my cleaning the receptionist decided to inform me that both of my treatments were not paid for and I had to pay full price. I had to pay almost 400$ for simple treatments I could have had paid for. My mother has spent 15k at this dentist office and my sister has paid 7k for Invisalign. It has made me realize this place does not actually care for indigenous peoples needs yet this location is residing on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot, Dene & Stoney Nakoda people. I truly wish living downtown felt more inviting towards Indigenous people. Finding locations that have an understanding of what Treaty means and Treaty rights is essential especially considering this is 2022. The receptionist asked if I wanted to pay off the money in monthly payments which also felt condescending to assume I couldn’t pay for my treatments without government funding. Anyways I will never come back here as this experience reminded me I have to always explain my rights as an indigenous person.

I love 4th Street Dental! My husband and I have been going for 3 years now and the whole team is wonderful -- Danika, Rie, Danielle, and Kallie at the front to name a few of our favourite smiling faces! We both go to Dr. Lindsay, she is friendly, thorough, and seriously an artist with fillings, once I was actually nodding off to sleep during a filling. Who knew that was even possible!? Can't recommend them highly enough - best dentist office either of us have ever been to! (Bonus: now we're always up to date on check-ups because we don't dread the dentist anymore!)

Best Dental clinic in the city. We have recommended 4th st dental to all our team members and we have received nothing but amazing response from our team about 4th st dental and their services. I personally am a client as well and can say with confidence that I can sadly recommend this place to anyone.

Seriously the best team - Dr. Wally helped me with my crippling anxiety driven by freezing by using skilled technique to isolate the freeze and limiting my fear of freezing. The cleanings are always quick and the team is so friendly, and funny, and generally a welcoming experience. Honestly dentist appointments have never been easier.

I have pretty severe anxiety when it comes to visiting the dentist due to a history of terrible experiences and a lot of personal shame. Recently I've needed to get a lot of dental work done and dreaded every moment of it but Dr. Lindsay has been nothing but absolutely wonderful. She's reassured, encouraged, and took great care of me through every step. Both her and her amazing assistant have made an experience that normally leaves me in tears and riddled with days of anxiety into something so much less scary. I couldn't be more grateful for their kindness and care and the renewed confidence they've given me in my dental health. I couldn't recommend them more for the wonderful work they do and the compassion they have for their clients.

Thank you to Amanda, my hygienist today! So gentle, patient and kind. It has been many years since I’ve felt this safe and comfortable in a dentist chair. Especially for a cleaning/scaling. If anyone out there is putting their dental care on back burner due to fear, shame or finances, I recommend this team very highly. So grateful and proud to be on a regular maintenance plan with these people!

Best dentist ever! Booking cleanings and fillings was always on the bottom of my to-do list, but this team has made going to the dentist enjoyable. Every team member who works here is knowledgeable and passionate about making the experience positive. From the moment you walk in the door you are made to feel welcome. Estimates are provided quickly and direct-billed to my insurance provider so I am left with zero worries. I will be referring all of my friends and family to Dr Dhesi!

Simply the best dental experience I've had! The office is bright and spotless. Every member of the team is very friendly and professional. Dr Lindsay is the best dentist I've had... thorough, caring and an expert in patient care. Highly recommended!
