★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The parking ticket system here managed to screw me over and you can’t fight parking tickets. Avoid this area and try and train down if possible or use south lot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I want to say that i have visited this area again recently and have to say that the zoo has done an excellent job of dealing with the garbage i saw there before . Awesome job zoo , i spotted no garbage at all and i am very pleased about the whole matter . Thank you calgary zoo for keeping our city clean , you guys did a great job !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ COVID-19 protocols in place. Face mask/cover required for all indoor areas. Went just after noon/ around 1:00 pm and the animals were very active as it appears that is around a feeding time.

I'm in principal against maintaining animals in captivity but guys in Calgary seem to take good care of the residents and it shows. Parking is quite costly at $12 + admission ticket. Parking fee is probably to deter city commuters who would otherwise flood it and take a train to downtown, but for the zoo visitors I believe it should be free. So if you care to save I recommend taking a train. It stops right at the entrance. You will need about 3 hours to cover every exhibit and spend at least 5-10 min on every stop. Some will definitely keep you longer than that. So, wear comfortable shoes and have fun! I think it should be free. One star comes off because of the expensive parking but the experience is great.
