It had its moments when it seemed frustrating because of the strict rules , yet at the same time I have lots of great memories of camp, choir and cultural heritage events. I was sent to 592 Huron in January of 1996 when my other group home shut down. I met some of the funniest, nicest and most interesting people at Youthdale. I communicate with a few people from back then today.
P	Private Poster on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ By far the WORST place I ever worked a as a nurse! Think twice before applying for nursing position here. 4th floor youth workers gang up together and make nurse’s life very difficult and get you terminated. Ratio of youth workers and nurse is 1 nurse and several (3+) youth workers per shift, therefore youth workers feel that they can bully nurses and nothing will happen to them because there is 1 nurse and several youth workers that can be a witness to each other against a nurse. Youth workers will write incident reports about every little thing a nurse does wrong and then they will report you to the management, after which management will meet with you and terminate you right away on the same day on a spot. DON'T EVEN THINK of voicing your opinion if you feel that you are being treated unfairly by youth workers, you WILL be LAID OFF for voicing your opinion. Management takes youth workers' side ONLY, management will terminate you right away without even meeting with you or listening to your side of story. The youth worker will report you to the management and you will get terminated and ask you to pack your things and leave right that moment. $29 per hour is not worse the harassment, stress and embarrassment that they will put you through.

S	Shawney West on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ i was at youth dale not even a month it was amazing the staff nurses were all very supportive doctors saw me everyday and i was never pushed to do anything i would honestly not be able say thank you enough for all there hard work the unit i was in the asu you get put with kids similar to u and its amazing how close you can get and how nice everyone is thank you all for your hard work

If we could sue this place for their wrong doings I'd be glad to join in. I will never forget. My brother was either shackled or jabbed with a needle to calm him multiple times I visited in the 90s. The restraint was awful to watch, traumatic and nothing any child should have ever had to endure. My brother was never the same again and even though this program was 'meant' tho help it only mentally drove him into a deeper hole. My mom sent him here believing what they said, that it would help. She was not aware that it was only going to keep him down and even lead him to a worse life than before. I truly hope no child endures the pain, loss, and utter unimaginable procedures my brother did in the 90s. I personally still wake up from bad dreams caused by this place.
C	Casey Alter on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was at one of the houses for a bit over 6 months and I was released a few months ago. I am so glad I was released because some of the staff that youthdale employs only say the things they are supposed to and deny everything we say against them they deny. There were only a few staff that I had a good rapport with. Honestly, there is barely anything good about these houses but the first is the other kids, they don't write IRs they don't gossip about everyone at shift change. Second thing was playing pokemon with some of the staff I remember beating 3 GX Psychics with only a pincurchin. Kinnect staff are the worst though. Some of them aren't even trained for the jobs at the houses. But with all of the bad there was some good, The kids, some of the staff. I'm not going to name names but the staff that I was complaining about you know who you are. The supervisor was 50/50 she could be a b#### at one point and then all nicey-nice at the other you also know who you are.
H	Hong Fuqing on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I spent time in both units and one of the houses. There are so many bad stories I could tell. This place is not safe and I left more traumatized then when I went in. They do not respect any sort of person boundaries and cross even the most basic human boundaries. If your child needs help please look for help elsewhere. If I could take legal action I would.
