Horrible experience..... my instructor Sabine was extremely unprofessional and very rude, even decided to insult the driving of the person who dropped me off! I lasted 20 minutes in the lesson before I asked to end the session and reschedule with someone else. Very disappointing considering I paid $800 for 3 lessons and a car for the road test.....go anywhere else but here

I am very satisfied with the school. My teacher (Sabine Clemens) was excellent. She was very experienced, helpful and caring. Every class was well planned to challenge my skills in various ways, giving me more confidence and a broad experience in driving. My teacher taught me how to make decisions efficiently and how to control the car in different situations without having to memorize a list of steps. Thank you very much Sabine for your wonderful work. I would not have been able to pass my driving test without you.

This was a waste if my money. I paid a lot of money for lessons here. My lessons were inconsistent and the instructors were not polite and wasted my time by talking about unrelated issues. I have gone through 2 instructors. First instructor, my first and second lesson were useless, just turned left and right on one block. Didn't see a single street light. Second instructor, I was basically just driving up and down the highway with hardly any instruction. Car smelled like a cigarette and instructor was rude and crabby. Got criticized for not having a car to practice in outside of the lessons, and this is what i paid 800$ for, because i don't have a car to practice in. I wanted to get my money worth because of this. So I'm extremely disappointed with the lack of care from instructors, bad attitude and my time wasted speaking to me about issues that don't concern me. I have had 4/5 lessons and I can confidently say that they have been nearly useless and DEFINITELY not worth 800$. I have been ripped off completely and I want my money back. The website makes it seems so good but in reality this driving school is bogus. Highly recommend to go somewhere else. So disappointed, people pay so much money for lessons from here and they don't deserve these terrible instructors. 1/5.

My daughter had her first in car lesson with Sabine from Young Drivers of Canada in Coquitlam. Sabine was impatient and rude to the point of being abusive. At one point she demanded β€œWhy don’t you know this????” Uh, because she has never had an in car lesson before?! My daughter felt unsafe, and I was extremely disappointed in Young Drivers of Canada for letting such an unprofessional instructor continue to teach. We have since found out that two of my daughter’s friends also had a terrible experience with Sabine. These negative google reviews of Sabine are proof that this woman should never get behind the wheel of a car with a student driver.

Sabine is a very rude and inpatient instructor at young drivers, she can get mad easily if you don't do something she wants you to do in a certain way and expects you to know everything even if your new. for example she left me on the side of a road when she brought my dad into a conversation talking about him making me feel bad knowing that i cant do much but talk, but instead I asked he to stop the session as she was angry when talking about my dad and I later pulled over while she continued to be aggressive, I later than said I was going to get another ride back instead and she threatened to cancel the rest of my lessons and road test that was scheduled 2 weeks later (she also made me postpone my road-test).

My experience was very stressful. I took in class and in car lessons. I took the in class lessons with a guy named Chris. He was a really good teacher and I had a good experience. However, I took my in car lessons with Sabine. It was the most horrible experience. To the point wherein I cried in front of her and she did not do anything but continue to yell. I cried cause I would make minor mistakes and she would get frustrated and genuinely yell, get angry, and talk bad things about my driving. Sure, maybe that’s her way of teaching, but it was so bad that it made me develop anxiety while driving and removed my confidence. She was very rude and honestly led me to question my driving skills. To the point wherein I’ve developed anxiety just even thinking about lessons with her. I was so anxious it affected my mental health and just everyday life. I would cry taking the train home just cause of how she made me feel. It made me think about how a teacher can really affect you. And she impacted such in a negative way. She always told me if I keep making these β€œmistakes” I won’t pass my road test. I told my parents and as soon as they knew how I felt about the lessons they cancelled all lessons remaining. I dropped out of the lessons and wasted my money. I booked my road test on my own and practiced my way. I became confident once again and passed my road test on the first try. I would say to the young drivers head or authority or anyone in management. Please do something about this situation. I’ve been reading the reviews and I’ve seen a few complaints about Sabine as well. If you do not do anything about her. She will continue to affect students for the worse. And I do not wish anyone the experience I’ve had.

With these driving schools, they're only as good as the instructor(s) you have. I have kids that took lessons before getting their test. One took it from Bestway Driving School and they were pretty good, but no longer operating. My second child went through Young Drivers as I did when I was getting my license 40 years ago. They are expensive and terrible now - don't ever go through them. The first YD instructor barely said a word to my kid and scheduling a lessons was cumbersome. We ended up leaving a couple of lessons unused and were denied a refund. They're not the Young Drivers of Canada they were before. They are poorly run and I'd almost say, "Fly-by-night operation" bordering on fraudulent. Then my youngest was ready for his turn and we got him lessons through the Mercedes/Driving Unlimited Academy. His instructor was incredible, such a great instructor. Taught him the right way and was a patient, encouraging, communicative and really diligent instructor, can't say enough about Robert.

I'm not the type of person who likes to leave negative reviews about a service or a product but I think this one deserves it. If you are looking to learn proper driving, please find a different driving school instead of spending so much money on YD. The money I saved up for a driving school all went to waste and I regret enrolling with YD 100%. Yes, they want you to learn the correct way of driving, to avoid collisions and for your safety but the problem is with the instructors and their system. The instructor I had made me so nervous every time I'm on the road because of her yelling whenever I make mistakes. I couldn't even focus on the road anymore because I was too worried to make any mistakes, not for my safety but because she will yell at me. She makes me so anxious, she doesn't like me asking questions, and calls me out for not practicing outside of our scheduled lessons but that was the point of me enrolling in a driving school, because no one else can teach me. I thought it was just me being anxious on the road but when I was with a different instructor (from another driving school), I felt more calm, comfortable, and can easily ask questions without being yelled at. I've asked to have a different instructor but they weren't very accommodating at all. The only person I like from their staff is the one in scheduling who understood my concerns and really tried his best to find me a different instructor but the other ones just ignored my emails. So please, enroll in a different driving school. Don't waste your money here and don't wait til you develop fear when driving before asking for a refund or a different instructor.
