This place is a setup up for failure they have 2 wonderful employment counselors or the Yjc program but their Manager of Programs & Services clearly has no reason being there can do her job tight they dont payout like they are supposed to either which causes you to not move forward i been wait on 2 payment since march we are now may goong in june still havent gotten the payments now i am sotting home not able to go to work due to the lack of management they have and also due to the fact that they hire anyone to do a job with out looking at the persons performance or yet alone getting any feedback from people about there performance they need to remoce some people from this place

JobStart is an organisation that helps new comers to find the right career start in this part of the world. Team JobStart is truly dedicated, supportive and committed to help people to find a right job. They have a well designed program which equips newcomers with all the required skills to land up in a right job. While various programs at JobStart helps newcomers to learn about Canadian culture, basic difference among Canadian employers and rest of the world, their Bridging and the Mentorship programme gets newcomers connected to senior professionals from the desired industry, to get right guidance to newcomers. It has been an awesome experience working with the Team JobStart, especially with Kathleen, Sarah and Natalia. They have always been there to help me get my first break in this part of the world. I am grateful for their efforts and support.

I was a new immigrant to Canada in 2016 and I was not able to find a job. When I googled for 'New Immigrants settlement support centers', I got a reference to the Jobstart which is at a walkable distance to my home. On one fine day, I went there along with my wife to inquire about the settlement program. The first things they did was register us by taking your PR Card and SIN number. Next thing, they register for training sessions for a period of 45 days. 1 or 2 sessions every week. They trained in resume writing, interview skills, professional skills, etc... They also assigned a career coach to guide us in finding a job. They also issued a login card to log in when we visit the Jobstart. They provided free Internet access and printing services. (But during our visits, the computer room was under renovation, so we weren't able to use it. And I also saw a poster on the walls that daily 6 papers are allowed to print by the candidates like us.) After 15 days we met with our career coach along with our resume. He suggested a modification. Next week again we met him along with a modified resume as per training provided to us. He suggested a modification Again. The fourth week again we met him along with a modified resume as per his suggestions to us. He suggested a modification Again. The sixth week again we met him along with a modified resume as per his suggestions to us. He suggested a modification Again. The seventh week again we met him along with a modified resume as per his suggestions to us. He suggested a modification Again. In the seventh week, I asked the career coach, You are changing your guidelines every week. Why don't you create a resume for us? He replied, we only train you, you have to build your resume by your self. This is an absolutely true statement. Finally, he said "OK, Not Bad" to our resumes in the Eighth week. In Ninth or Tenth Week, we got a new coach. She looks more professional and more dedicated than the previous coach. On the first look of our resume she said, this resume needs so many modifications. This resume will not get any response or call from the employer. We amazed!!. She said you guys need training, I will enroll you in training sessions. We said we already had all the training sessions. Then she suggested a couple of modifications, which were good and seems to be working a little bit. She conducted a mock Interview for me and my wife. She also enrolled us in a Mentor program and my wife got a mentor and the mentor guided my wife very well and I got a chance to meet her, she was really a wonderful woman with helping nature. I felt really the Mentor was helpful and knowledgeable than the Jobstart guys. Unfortunately, I didn't get any mentor. We are visiting jobstart, communicating with our coach, attending their seminars, job-fairs. But, no fruits are coming out. After roaming around Jobstart for 3-4 months we finally realized this Jobstart will not going to help in any way. The people who are working at Jobstart are not professional, knowledgeable not qualified and nor dedicated to supporting the candidates in their job search. They are just doing their job and they really will not bother to do anything. The training which they will provide is waste of time, you will not get any knowledge or anything but a bunch of papers prints, plagiarised from the internet. They will flood the inbox with plenty of emails which are just forwarded (FWD: or RE:) emails and mostly irrelevant. A friend of mine provided a job reference and I got a Job. Reference got worked. This was the story of 2016. Might, they have improvised their services and professionalism. This type of agencies, they are making good money out of 'Settlement Programs' and really not doing anything to the newcomers. Don't waste your time. And don't keep any hopes.

DON'T EVER GO HERE! They don't even know what they're doing when it comes to finding a job for a client. They will screw up your resumes with a little copy/paste of paragraphs from various websites, so your resume is not as legitimate, as if its something an elementary school kid would do. They won't even listen to you no matter how many times you tell them something, they hear Charlie Brown's teacher going "WA WA, WA WA WAAAA" They will not find you the correct job you're looking for that is described on your resume, wasting your time going to different locations only to get turned down because you wouldn't qualify for it based on the resumes description. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME! 0/10

You will never get job here, these people work for more number of candidates to join them so they can get more benefits from govt and they are not bother if you get job or not. Very unprofessional never revert email and when asked they say we get many email we don't have time reply everyone. They go for holiday whenever you ask them why you replying so late. They just say good things about them so you should join them, once you join them they wont bother you unless you tell them you are leaving them. Stay away from them if you are looking for professional career, they can only help you with survival jobs.

I've always had trouble getting the desired job. Looking at reviews, the researching and trying to focus through University. Claudia L, today she not only did a fantastic job, Claudia went above and beyond for me and another individual. I appreciate all of you that work very hard at home and at the office doing what you do best! Supporting. Frustrated people, I understand how you feel. Be patient, be thankful because you never know if their day isn't going well, not everyone can pick up the phone and greet you with respect like Jobstart employees. Peace.

All these employment Centres have one thing in common they don’t care so don’t waist your time. The job counsellors need to get paid by commission only then they will work harder to find you a job.
