Especially like their home made sauce including pickled garlic and chili sauce.

β β β β β My Vietnamese colleague recommended this restaurant to me. The food is authentic and the area is clean and nice. That would be great if the staff can talk quietly rather than loudly.

β β β β β It's astonishingly rare for me to go to the same restaurant more than once when travelling and this was one of those places. Went for dinner then lunch again the next day because it was just so good. Over two meals, we had the beef carpaccio, Hanoi fresh roll, beef pho, bun cha, chicken pho, and bun bo hue. Beef carpaccio is better than Phnom Penh's in my opinion. Roll wasn't that exciting but the peanut sauce was delicious. Both phos were so good, but beef was definitely better - the chicken pieces were a bit rough. Bun cha was probably the best bun I've ever had. Definitely one of the best Viet restaurants I've been to outside of Vietnam!

β β β β β 1. Location near the beach so you can bring family to the beach for fun and then come to this restaurant for lunch or dinner.
2. Parking on the street
3. Vietnamese foods are great. We have amazing delicious Chicken salad, then Lobster roll, grill feed, grill pork eat with βbΓΊnβ. Fresh orange juice with bamboo straw. Foods are truly Vietnamese styles and deserve to be top one in the city.
4. Decor is clean, nice and cozy. Inside they have both chair and sofa around wall for our kid to sit or play around on it. Patio outside near street is great.
5. Service is fast, friendly.

β β β β β The Pho at Wooden Fish is definitely a step up from most Pho you find in the city, which expectedly, does come at a higher price point that usual. The level of depth to the broth is quite noticeable compared to others and you really get the sense thereβs a lot of love and experience put into it. At first, the portioned seemed to be a bit less that typical, which would be expected with the higher quality ingredients, but the slightly denser noodles even it out nicely. Overall, I really enjoyed this pho and you can bet that I cleaned my bowl.

β β β β β Great place with a different spin on pho compared to most other vietnamese restaurants I've been to. They have multiple homemade sauces that make this place a must visit for pho/spice fans visiting the area.

β β β β β Small portion of the Foie Gras rice And it's not worth the price, the pho has plain flavour And it's not typical pho noodles, more like Chinese style rice noodles. You will need this hot sauces on the table. However, very good presentation on the food and friendly staff. All of them seems busy but they messed up the orders on our table and table next to us too. So not sure if they are new or something.
Overall it's ok and pricey, wish they spend more money on service and taste of food instead of advertising.

β β β β β We love the food at wooden fish. Food is consistently great and the service is always very poor. We almost got used to the odd hosts and honestly donβt think they mean to be rude. We stopped taking it personally?
The restaurant is at a very good location and a great take out place to eat on the beach on sunny days as it is steps away from the Ambleside Beach.
I love ordering Shaking Beef on noodles, and almost everything taste delicious. The chicken satays are juicy and yummy as well as the summer roles.
