About Winsport Arena
History
The Bill Warren Training Centre (BWTC) opened in January 1994. The facility provides fitness training and support services to Nordic athletes and the public. The BWTC is located at the Canmore Nordic Centre. It was the host site of the cross-country skiing and biathlon events at the 1988 Olympic Winter Games.
The facility is used by the National Training Centre for Nordic Canada and Biathlon Canada, as well as Alberta Alpine, World Cup Academy, and the Canmore Nordic Ski Club.
The 1988 Olympic Organizing Committee helped fund the construction of BWTC. This was done through a generous donation of $4.7 million. Renovations happened in the spring of 2008 and included the addition of a new building and the expansion of a weight room.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I took my kids here snowboarding. They enjoyed their time here. I didn't like the idea, that as a spectator, I had to wear my snowboard boots and pay for a lift ticket, even though I wasn't snowboarding. But this may be due to COVID unfortunately.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Terrible access to venue, parking access (way too long of a wait; one road in) and getting out of parking…ridiculous!! Two lovely ladies working the food and drinks for the ENTIRE venue! We will never return and we are concert goers!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Been going for years now but I gotta admit, I wouldn't go if I didn't have to. Food and beverage spots are always closed when I'm there. Staff were totally rude and inconsistent during covid. One of the worst set up's for spectators on 3/4 rinks. Viewing from one end of rink only and have to look through black netting.
Ice is usually good. Rink A is a great place to watch hockey. Skate shop is good. I assume this will be the home of the Flames AHL club next year?

With its huge ice surface and heated indoor viewing area, you're sure to have a great time at Winsport. They also offer arena venues and operations for non ice sports like basketball, hobby conferences, live music and more! The staff also provide first class customer service, always ensuring that you have a great time at the arena. The arena, dressing rooms and bathrooms are incredibly clean. So if you're looking for a great time, Winsport Arena is definitely the place to be. If you are a hockey mom or dad this is by far the best viewing experience for youth and quadrant hockey. I always have a great time when I come here to skate, or watch family members play hockey and the staff are always super friendly. I would highly recommend Winsport Arena to anyone looking for a place to go ice skating in Calgary. Additionally, if you get a chance to book this arena as a hockey team manager or coach this is the best facility in Calgary. Great place for all ages. It also supports diversity and supports a drag show race that will be featured as a crave original. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Their ice is well maintained and the locker rooms are large. A very nice facility to be skating on. They need to provide an online map of the facility. When I first showed up I didn't know what parking lot to go to or where to go.
