A great little stop along the seawalk with a small trail on top of the artificial barrier. Beautiful purple and blue flowers bloom in the summer and spring time with beautiful views of the ocean as well.

Popular beach fire local as lots of easy parking. But all the smaller drift wood gets used pretty quickly. Bring your own kindling and possibly a chain saw. Only worth going to this beach if you have a big group or is early in the season before the smaller wood gets used up. Beaches just south of here have lots more wood.

Wonderful beach, great ambience most days as people are appreciating the ocean and mountain views at all times of the year. There is always driftwood all along the shoreline to light beach fires, also providing places to sit. All ages and all generations are together compatibly. At low tide it is fun to walk out where the water could be 5 or 6 feet deep hours earlier or later. It is a great place to go kayaking, canoeing or boating/fishing or for a swim on a hot day. There are also two flush toilet bathrooms that are serviced daily by city employees. Recently winter storms have sent large waves crashing in from the east or south. There is a boat launch ramp, albeit the depth doesn't allow large draft boats particularly at low tide. Another positive is people generally don't leave garbage behind. A favoured location within the city to bike to along the sea path.

It's really cool especially to visit the reef on low tide!

It's so nice here that someone was swimming at the end of January. Descent place to windsurf when the wind is from the northwest. The beach has changed and the windsurfing has improved when the wind is from the southeast.
