Sean and Kim Whittall are amazing realtors. They were super professional even when I was being difficult! They were patient with us and super responsive during our long looking phase. We truly never thought we would find a home here in BC. However, Kim and Sean did not give up! Over an almost 3 year process they spent so much time with us. Then in October 2020 they got a little creative and suggested Bowen Island might be the right area for us. We had not even considered Bowen because we didn’t know much about it. They found a few houses for us to look at in different neighborhood’s of the island which was super helpful and so smart of them. That was the day we found our dream property. It was a little beyond our ideal price but Sean and Kim went to work and negotiated relentlessly and got the buyer to come down (literally unheard of in this housing market) to meet us at a fair price! It was phenomenal in how persistent Sean and Kim were in the negotiation process. Very unusual deal in BC but they knew the property and what the fair price should be. Once the price was agreed upon that’s when they really went to work for us. Their high quality service did not end there. They tirelessly coordinated all the vendors and inspections needed (not easy with the property being a ferry trip away) to close in a very very short timeline which was requested by the seller. Sean and Kim made the deal happen and we couldn’t be happier! We found our dream property in an area that feels like home! Sean and Kim found us an amazing ski cabin at Whistler. It wasn't even on the market but they knew the owner might consider selling and they knew the cabin was exactly what we wanted. They contacted the owner and negotiated us a great price. We can't believe how fast and easy they made the whole process. There was less than a week from when we started looking for a cabin and Kim and Sean finding us the ideal place. They always give us good real estate advice and we are glad they are our agents. We first met with "Team Whittall" over one year before listing and had several meetings over that period. Kim also accompanied us to a local open day to get a feel for the market competition. The timing of the sale was important, along with the presentation and the price. We also had a requirement to rent back for a period following the sale. Kim and Sean delivered on all our demands and we are completely satisfied with the outcome. Okay, let me just say Kim and Sean are a phenomenal team. We've been long term renters and always nervous about buying a home, seemed expensive and a bit overwhelming. Well, like a lot of people, our landlord's plans changed and we had to move again but decided we really needed to explore buying instead of renting again (especially with how much rents have gone up). We'd met Kim and Sean in the community over the years, as they are involved in West Van activities so much and really know all the neighborhoods and history and schools. Especially Sean and growing up as a little kid in West Van as well. All through the years, they've never pressured to buy and if we asked questions, they gave great honest opinions. So with the pressure on to buy with a looming eviction from our rental, Kim was the first person I called. Her empathy was through the roof, she immediately understood our situation, and was even willing to help on a rental search while we looked for a home to purchase ourselves. Again, as a long term renter, this was uncharted territory, and we had a short amount of time to get financing together and make this happen. Well, in a market that was absolutely going nuts, with two homes that we looked at going 10% to 20% above asking and multiple bidders, Kim found us the perfect place. It was priced a bit too high, and she went right to work for us, the buyers, and really came with a lot of evidence of what is a correct price. She went to battle on the price and got us a deal at a price lower than I thought we'd have to go. Amazing. I'm sure there are lots of great realtors out there, but if you want someone with deep history and understanding of the neighborhood, who really fights for you as the buyer agent, and puts in all the time at any hour you need them, Kim is your Agent. And Sean is great to talk boats with as well :)
