About White River Heritage Museum

White River is not only a town founded along the railroad, it is the home town of the real Winnie! A black bear who inspired the stories of Winnie the Pooh.

The White River Heritage museum was founded in 2000 by the White River District Historical Society to showcase the town’s amazing history.

Arriver au musΓ©e et c'est fermer, aucun avis dans la porte indiquant que c'est fermer. Door locked, ni message saying it's closed. Lunch time?

I loved the Winnie the Pooh collection. It brought me back to my childhood, reading the books and watching the movies. Would recommend to anyone who grew up with the silly, old bear!

My hubs Laur and I enjoyed our visit at the White River Heritage Museum. Natasha was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. And there were local history books available to purchase. I love all things trains so was happy with the train-related displays. ?

We came to the town on a power-off day after a storm. Everything was closed in the town, but we did not know by the time when we arrived at the museum. Terry, the volunteer of the museum was at the door and told us it was closed as there was no power in the museum. However, when she knew that we drove a long way to get here, she invited us to the museum and patiently told us the stories of Winne the bear and showed us around. We were so moved by her kindness and although it was dark and barely saw nothing inside, we felt the warmness and welcome from Terry and White River people. Thank you so much, Terry. You made a difference!
