Westmould Manufacturing & Distributing Ltd. - Kelowna

In Nov 2018 I paid a $50% deposit on a fire table $2,387.84. I was told that it would be 3-4 week delivery timeline. This was written on the invoice as well. I was under the impression it would be cast at his shop in Kelowna. Every time i inquired about when it would be done there was a different story. He had not received the gas fire insert from the company he ordered it from, then with Christmas and the holidays they were a bit behind....Then it was that he is so bus that he sent my job to Salt Lake City to be completed,??? then I was led to believe it was done but he had to go down and pick it up and his truck was too damaged to do that. Then it changed and he said he would send the job to Calgary (even though I was lead to believe it was done and sitting in salt lake city... then it never materialized... then he said they were just so slammed, I can't even be bothered to go through the countless emails and communications I've had with him and excuses over the months to write it all out here. In June I asked for a refund or delivery of the fire table by end of June. In which case he made more attempts to try and say it would get done. Then he said a staff was mauled by his dog so they were even more behind, then they had a hacker, then then then.. It is now almost Oct 2019 and no fire table and no refund. His email is over quota and I get bounce backs and no one answers the phone. I mail letters, fax letters, I have been to his shop and sat outside waiting for him to turn up and no one can help me there. I made one of the staff call him from their phone and Rod didn't pick up their call either. Never returns my calls or VM's. My parents were having a ton of work ton on a new home build with him a just a few weeks ago my Dad stalked him down and when asked about my issue he told my Dad the refund cheque is in the mail. 3 weeks later... no cheque.. no clue where he even mailed it, he never asked for my address through this whole process. My Dad saw him again today and he said "oh it's my book keeper, she doesn't let me do any of that stuff... don't know why the cheque hasn't arrived" to be clear this is the OWNER of the company that I've been dealing with directly. I am pretty sure I'll never see my deposit or my fire table. I have no idea how he is in business or how he has relationships with builders with this type of business ethics.

I just built a custom home in Kelowna and used this company to provide the fireplace surround, range hood and cast moldings for every exterior door and window in my home. They were paid about 70,000.00 for their services. We had a nightmare of a time getting the work done and heard lie after lie as to what the problems were. Once the project was finished there were many problems with the workmanship. Rodney Gray (Owner) said he would look after everything in the spring. I believed him and paid him. After 8 months of him lying and promising, nothing has been fixed. I have given up on trying to get them to step up.This company is a total disaster and should not be in business. If you deal with them I promise you it will cost you nothing but money and lots of pain.

I’ve worked with them as a contractor for over a year and I cannot but highly recommend against doing any business with Rod. Never have I ever seen business run so disorganized and owners being the biggest liars there are. To start they promise quality of product and timelines to be exceptional only to have multiple delays, horrible shipping schedule and extremely low product quality. Rod would take deposit for the whole contract, deliver about 30% and then you won’t hear from him after. Biggest issue is they quality and warranty, while some product may look good on outside their quality control and delivery is so bad that over 50% of delivered product is cracked, disclosed or out of spec as they promise minimum 3/8 thickness but some trims are paper thin and can be broken with the press of a thumb. Finally there is a huge concern as I’ve seen cracking after installation and Rod constantly lies and changes companies, locations, phone numbers and emails to avoid any responsibility. The whole place operates as a scam scheme. Worst decisions of my life to work with them as it left me over $20,000 CAD in the loss...
