Gurkin, Devon & staff offered great customer service today! They processed my insurance at closing and if that wasn't excellent service alone, they replaced my stubborn old plates and even pulled out the WD40 and elbow grease to assist me! Thank you Osoyoos Westland Insurance! Much gratitude for your service.

Staff is super friendly and extremely helpful. Every time when I need to get something done, I feel that the staff genuinely cares. Today I was helped by the young lady who has the first desk on the right (so sorry for not catching her name), and she was awesome! Happy Holidays to the entire team!

So, I get a voice mail from a Westland call center agent (not my Osoyoos branch) saying my car insurance is going to expire "tonight at midnight". Think about that for a moment: 1. A phone call....like, who does that anymore? Email, text PLEASE! 2021 folks, nobody does phone anymore. Half the time it's a crank. 2. The message is my Insurance is going to lapse TONIGHT! What if I missed the call (which I did)? No advance notice? " EXPIRES TONIGHT"?!!! What kind of service is that? I thought brokers were in the business of protecting their clients! Oh, and it turns out Westland had the wrong information anyway, which I suspected. I had taken out a storage policy on that car before I left Osoyoos so I was puzzled/panicked by the "impending iinsurance lapse" call. Apparently Westland does not have an information system that can tell them that have taken out a storage policy on a car. The system just spits out a "road coverage set to expire" message. Dumb. When I called the Osoyoos branch to figure out what was going on, I was routed to the Cranbrook branch, where a very nice agent told me "yeah, all kinds of crazy things are happening with our phone system today, but I'll try to help you". He looked up the policy information for that car...the entire time saying stuff like "the system doesn't give me very good information". Finally he was able to verify that I indeed have a storage policy on the car. So....the whole thing was (1) a waste of my time; (2) stressful; (3) making me angry enough to write a detailed, one star review. I kind of thought that dealing with a large broker that has been hoovering up small agencies would lead to a more modern (digital!), sophisticated customer experience. Alas, no. Invest in the business please. And focus on the customer. I know, I know...that's probably too much to ask.

Office is under renovations, considering the techs were there setting up the computer connections for everything, they did very well.

Sharon Hiller has been taking care of our home and auto insurance needs since we moved to Osoyoos, BC in 2016. Always pleasant and smiling regardless of the circumstances. Sharon has always provided us with sound, absolutely correct insurance advice. Most recently, we were unable to return home from our trip before the renewal deadline for one of our vehicles. Sharon took care of everything within 10 minutes and even arranged for my daughter (looking after our house) to pick up the documents. First Class service from a First Class person. Thanks Sharon.

After receiving the wrong information from BCAA and having to last minute get insurance for a trailer purchased in Alberta, Westland took my call immediately and got my insurance set up right away (while I was still on hold with BCAA for 1.5hrs!!) Thanks Reichelle!

Open Saturdays and got in last minute on the phone with Irene Stoll! Insured me faster than my 1/2 hr lunch! Thank you so much for getting me renewed just in the nick of time!!
