J	James Hektner on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! My buddy and I are both paraplegics and use manual wheelchairs. We were denied the room when we tried to check in at 8:00pm apparently because we didn't mention that we were both in wheelchairs (this has never stopped us or any of us from our community from booking a room before). Additionally, they made a comment that since we were two males in one room, the room is now unavailable. Alternatively, there were no other hotels with vacancy that late at night. We crossed the street to the police station and chatted with a very nice police officer but there was nothing they could do since it was a civil issue. In my 25 years of using a wheelchair, I have never felt so discriminated before. GF is a small town and words travel fast. Good luck Western Traveler Motel!
C	Chelsea McEvoy on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am extremely disappointed in this establishment and really hope this can be an educating experience for the owners and management of the Western Traveler Motel. I have never in my life written a poor review for anybody and I am sad to say that this is my first. I must confess I have never stayed in this motel and from the other reviews, I am sure this is a fine place to stay, however, turning customers away because of their disability is unacceptable. My husband and our friend (both paraplegics using manual wheelchairs) were turned away at 10:00 at night because, instead of only one wheelchair user there were two. God forbid, two people in wheelchairs share a room! After being refused and not even being able to see if the room would work, my husband and friend were turned away. With all hotels in the surrounding area fully booked, you left my husband and friend stranded....all because of their wheelchairs. This makes me sick to my stomach and I really hope this never happens to anyone's loved one. These two men have travelled the world in their wheelchairs and have experienced far less accessibility than a motel in Grand Forks...but it is here they have experienced the most discrimination. Please Western Traveler Motel, take this opportunity to learn about people in wheelchairs, do not assume you cannot accommodate and never leave someone stranded again. Sincerely the wife of a strong wheelchair user.

So it appears that there are only motels in Grand Forks, and do not try to go out for a bite to eat after 8 town is shut down. Back to the motel, well it is a 70,s Era motel, it was kept clean and tidy, room didn't have a old motel funky smell. To our suprise it even had a tiny kitchen.

K	Kelly G on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We left Vancouver driving across BC, and it was getting late with bad weather so we needed somewhere to stay. We called places in other towns that were sold out so we called the Western Traveller Motel in Grand Forks looking for a pet friendly room for the night, and they had one room left. The wonderful couple at the front desk even stayed late and waited for us to arrive at 10:30pm. We were so pleasantly surprised by the room. Everything is very clean (even smelled clean) the room was well made up with all amenities (hairdryer, TV, coffee, etc). The room was quiet and we had a great sleep. Easy access to unload the car and better than the chain hotels in my opinion. They have a bbq and the grounds are well taken care of. Wonderfully managed property and very hospitable!
