★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Horrible company to deal with!!! Didn’t inform us of our rate going up, and despite hard times they refuse to work out a plan with a family who need vehicles to get to and from work!! Sent one email saying the monthly payment was NSF (even though the money was there and we tried to prove it to them and they wouldn’t listen or even look) and that it would be taken out again within 5 business days and that payments would resume the next month on the day that was agreed upon. Then sent an email the next day saying our policy was cancelled unless we pay for the whole year upfront!!! And only gave one business day to come up with said money even though people work during the hours they are open.
Even other insurance companies have said that this company is crooked in their policies and dealings with customers.
Also had home insurance with them and paid in full only to have them come after us and hound us for months for an additional $20 because a mistake THEY made!!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I missed a payment and they said I had 4 days to come pay or my insurance would be canceled due to non payment when I showed up on day 4 because day 1 was Saturday day 2 Sunday and day 3 was a holiday they told me the deadline was at 12:01 am so it was already canceled and I would have to pay the rest of the year upfront in to keep coverage with them which was almost $2000..... so long story short it was a blessing in disguise because I found out I was waaaaay over paying anyway!! I went and got the same coverage I was getting with them for $124 a month and they where charging me $285 a month!!
So if you are considering going to western financial please reconsider

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I can’t thank and recommend Shelby at Western Financial when it came to finding a policy for my Japanese import car I had nothing but headache with 8 other brokerages. I called and got put through to Shelby who was excellent from start to finish, took time to get to know me and what I needed replied to emails very quickly and found me a policy 30% less than my next cheapest quote! Guys you’ve got a customer for life thank you again! If you need auto insurance don’t waste your time calling other brokers, call Shelby!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had my previous policy paid in jan for remaining policy time till may. They refused to refinance me which that's fine, quoted me a increase of 300 for the next year. There never had a accident or ticket or this last year. Talkes to agents 3 times and thought I cancelled it which is what one of their agents told me. Now i recieved a bill in the mail with them expecting me to pay a yr of insurance or to do a bunch of running around. Sadly disappointed with the customer service especially if connact with clients arent noted everytime theres a call in or notes from office meets considering this was right before covid isolation started.

The fact that I live in Yellowknife and was able to get a policy with an Alberta company was very convenient.

Would take weeks to get answers and I’d recommend never to ask for transfer insurance from one car to another!
They reported I had multiple defaults when not one was missed. Always kept saying I needed to pay a deposit or pay early after these so called defaults.
After everything I called the insurance company Portage and asked for a broker change they hooked me up right away with spline and everything I wanted was done in 20 minutes not weeks. Very pleased to see not all brokers are they same
