โ โ โ โ โ This airport is a monument to manโs hubris. It is an offence against god, and he has duly smitten it with appalling weather, terrifying take off and landing and a 1200.00 charge to rent a car to Vancouver. In the opinion of this writer, if you are arriving or leaving this airport as part of your travel plans you would do better to walk.

โ โ โ โ โ This airport really has nothing in it. Thats ok, since its a regional airport. I"ve flown in and out of here three times. The flights were late twice, and cancelled the third time. I have time to write this because, Im waiting to depart, and of course it it delayed.
One thing that I liked about the airport, is that I could fly into Vancouver for a week and parking (outside, and not covered) was reasonable at $5 per day. Reasonable, because, as I say, its remote and there is nothing here. Today though, I arrived to find that some intrepid person has decided that parking was too reasonable. So they increased the price. Only by 60%, though. Wait, what? A 60% increase. Who does that?
Inflation is running at 2%.
The friendly commisionaire informed me that this is the first increase since 2012. Consumer prices are up 15% since 2012. But lets raise prices 60%. Last time Ill wait for a late flight here.

โ โ โ โ โ Staff are efficient and friendly the. The csfe when open is amazing, there is no bathroom once you check in and the single soda machine only accepts small bills and coins no scanning cards or apps. Poor planning on bathrooms but trading machines should be a no brainer

โ โ โ โ โ Its stupid Air Canada! If you booking the fly with your wife or your friend then they used own Credit card to pay your fly ticket, you've trouble, The Air Canada won't let you check-in you have buy another ticket again without apologize! Is that happened two days ago! It is so shame on this happened in Canada!

โ โ โ โ โ It is a small and charming airport strategically located close to Trail, BC. There are few shops, one restaurant and a car rental location. It is a clean and well run operation. There is a small restaurant in the airport (Pie in Sky). They serve to die for rhubarb and cherry pie. If you are a fan of rhubarb, this is a life changing experience!

โ โ โ โ โ Castlegar airport, also knows as cancel gar. Because it cancels so often. So if you are booking to this airport, you pray to god that air Canada wonโt cancel your flight. Because they Will. Before anyone. I promise.
No food around the area, so bring yours. One vending machine that only takes coins.
Also donโt come for your flight earlier than 40 minutes even if you come 5 hours early usually. They wonโt let you get through checkin 5 min before boarding. Itโs instant to get out and in.
