★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of Nanaimo's best dog parks, little known to even locals because of its location. You access it via a flight of stairs at the end of a short gated service road for storm sewers. Once you're on the beach, the crisp smell of ocean air replaces the wafting odor from the access trail, and you feel like you're not even in town anymore. There's lots of room for dogs to explore when the tide is out, too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a hydro pump station. Steep stairs lead down to a rocky, wet shoreline that is often slippery and treacherous. Great spot if stairs are ok for you. Not good for kids...too many areas to break an ankle. Popular with locals for sunsets and views of ocean.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice little spiral walk down to the shore (all slab rock). Physical barriers exist though. Nice spot for a picture at top but it is a pump station so it can be.... aromatic

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just a nice and relaxing place to watch from close by the sea lions enjoying the water/weather and eagles around. And of course the landscape, beautiful snowy mountains as a background. Just be careful with the sleepy rocks.
