About Weinrich Contracting Ltd

WCL was first established in 1978. Since then, we have grown into a company with over 150 employees who specialize in earthmoving, subdivision construction, general contracting, oilfield construction, road building, demolition & rehabilitation, and industrial servicing and grading.

We operate an extensive fleet with over 100 pieces of equipment that range from D3 to D8 crawler tractors, 3 tonne to 67 tonne excavators, 25 tonne to 40 tonne rock trucks, single engine and twin engine (push-pull) motor scrapers, a variety of on highway dump trucks, and various other units such as motor graders, skid steers,... that support our conventional machinery.

To an engineering firm, land developer, or oilfield company, having a supplier with the right machinery is vital, but how you use it in the end is what matters most. We do our homework before we being a project, and want to make the most efficient use of our time and yours, and we strive to ensure that you'll be satisfied with the product you receive from us.

I was employed by the company for a very short time, allot of good people except that management is hot tempered and and brash to jump to conclusions without asking anyone, I do not recommend anyone applying for a good company to apply here.

Where to start? Inexperienced management, run things the way they are all used to from working at a exponentially larger construction outfit. Little to no interest in doing things properly or safely. Very two faced upper management. Met the owner on 4 separate occasions, never bothered to introduce himself, acknowledge what I was doing for them etc. Usually worked around a 14 hour day 12 days on with maybe 2 days off, was expected that my phone was to be a work phone for months, was continually reassured that I was exceeding all expectations in regards to my position, was then fired (illegally) with no real reason other than I was not meeting the expectation of someone who had absolutely no clue as to what I was doing. Coincidentally this firing came only a week or so after I called out another employee for his extremely passive agressive attitude, and ignorant behaviour. Was called a see you next Tuesday by said employee, when I stated this to management, he laughed. Great place to work if you want to feel like a pos for doing your job. Break out the knee pads or move along.

Being new to the construction industry I was looking forward to learning new skills. Even though I entered as a labourer I was confident that I would move ahead. To my dismay I found that the foremen with this company seem to come in two types. The type that don't care if you learn anything or not and the other favoring his friends first and all others second. I have been ridiculed within by one supervisor and totally dismissed by another just because I did not possess construction knowledge when I started. This company gives the appearance of caring about safety but the foreman do very little to promote it. I had heatstroke one day because the foreman said he had no water, but later I heard on radio one of his buddies asking for another bottle. When I asked he produced a dirty bottle like it was found on a bag of concrete that was warm. The next day I started to feel the effects again and asked to go home. He sent me home for 3 days. His friend got sick and was allowed back to work the next day. I strongly do not recommend this company to anyone looking to start in the construction industry especially young teens who will be worked hard and not mentored.

I happened to pass by a site, and the foreman and crew were so nice and kind. My son loves construction and everyone was so sweet to him. They even pulled up a machine closer so my son could see. Great, great people

It started out okay, but after working with them for 7 months. I have discovered that The superintendents are Unprofessional they mess you around with your pay and cut your benefits while still charging for them. Company is ran my immature adults. No respect for the people that work for them. you are a number and someone to fill a seat that they can charge for that is all. Horrible company too work for . If you have other options take it and save yourself the trouble.
