The lake is extremely beautiful. The rest of the hike is not particularly interesting and the trail is very long. The beginning of the trail could easily have gone up a hill cutting off a good kilometer and a half of the start.

Great back country trail typically described as a moderate 7-hour hike but be warned: it took us 10 hours to do it, almost non-stop ascent was gruelling, 1.5 litres of water per person round trip not enough (fill up with lake water but don't forget your purifying tabs), boulder field and debris chute (last quarter of hike to the lake) were a challenge to traverse. 20km of forestry roads to get to the trail head from Sea to Sky highway also takes 1.5 hours (if you care about your car, which should have good ground clearance like at least a RAV4 or CRV!) On the plus side, lake is picturesque, views along the way were spectacular, trail was well marked (including for night hiking) and there's a potty (and a cabin with reservable spaces) at the lake.

Beautiful area, but didn't do the hike, maybe next time. Went 2 up on the bike with a group of bikes. Definitely not for the faint of heart. Amazing view especially at the top. If you take your car it should have 4wd or awd with good tires that grip. Word of caution to cars, please watch for ATV, bikes, etc., let them pass, it could be very dangerous for the riders. FYI, I'd rather go in the bush then use the outhouse again. Bring TP and hand sanitizer if you decide to use it. Would love to try an overnighter, next time!

Sketchy road getting to but worth the drive. Def need a car with decent clearance, big tires and 4wd would help a lot too. There is plenty of parking and a bathroom at the top.

We sctually hiked to Darling Lake but it uses part of the Watersprite Trail( or vice versa as Darling is an older trail). Both are phenominal and so beautiful! Neither are easy as both require strong intermediate hiking stamina, Darling more so but both can leave you lost or encountering difficult circumstances from trail steepness route finding, animals or weather. Take the 10 essentials or stay on the GrouseGrind locally. SAR doesnt want your business if you aren't prepared physically for demanding hikes and adequate equipment. Enjoy the wilderness within your means.

Beautiful intermediate hike. Come with hiking boots, some layers and enough water. 4x4 high clearance vehicle required for handling the last part of the loving road.

A lengthy, varied trail that takes you through the Squamish wilderness to the beautiful Watersprite Lake. To reach the trailhead, you will need to take the Mamquam Forest Service Road about 20km. There are no major cross ditches or overly deep pot holes, but the road is very rough and steep at times. Thus, I would be cautious taking this road if you don't have a 4x4 vehicle. The hike itself is about 19km roundtrip and involves about 700m of elevation gain. Other than right before Watersprite, the elevation gain is fairly well spread out. About 6km in, you'll have to start traversing a rock slide. It's not too difficult or technical, but I did find things slowed down at this point. The last 200m or so before the lake does get very steep, but this area is brief. There is a Hut located by Watersprite Lake that you can shelter in if you make a reservation. There is also camping available on the east side of the lake; there are designated platforms for tents. Depending on your pace, you're probably looking at about 5.5 to 7 hours of hiking, assuming you stop to eat and take photos. All in all, a worthwhile hike to do.

The hike is nice and leads to a beautiful lake, but the drive to the trailhead is the reason we won't be doing it again. You need a 4x4 capable of taking on a rocky road with plenty of potholes, steep inclines, and steep hills. Some sections are only wide enough for 1 vehicle as you drive along a cliff edge with no guard rail. Be prepared for about an hour of bumpy driving. The hike itself gains in elevation very slowly and is not difficult. Watch your footing near the end as the path crosses through an old rock slide which is pretty neat. The trail has some nice views along the way. There's a small parking lot at the trailhead as well as an outhouse. Bring your own toilet paper. The next outhouse is not until you reach the lake.
