★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lake Koocanusa is a beautiful spot in the east kootenays. It is called Koocanusa after Kootney, Canada, and UISA. Because it is located in these 3 places. Beautiful for meditation and ideal for a Summer Trip. The whol Wardner Provintial Park is beautiful as well as the town. 12 hours away from Vancouver but 6 from Calgary. Worth the summer trip, it was really fun for me!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's not much of a park, although it is on the water, but has no beach. If you need a quick stop while driving through, or are launching a boat, it works.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We sat in the park for just a few minutes, as we were on a walk. We found it pleasant, enjoying the woodsy smells, natural surroundings and lovely view of the river.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This park is quite simple but quaint and quiet. There are picnic tables shaded under old growth trees and a public washroom that was clean and well stocked with toilet paper.
You have easy access to the water from the park and there is a boat launch within walking distance. If you take the road up the hill from the park to the 3-way stop and hang a right, you'll come to the dry campsite and community park.
Wardner is a hidden gem in interior B.C. and I would seriously consider pushasing land or a home here as the people we have met are very nice and welcoming. Definately worth checking this place out!?
