★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I installed a Vortex liquid chlorine injection water treatment system 10 years ago. It was the best thing I ever did. If you have an acreage that has difficult water - especially iron and iron bacteria, this treats the water as it enters the house. Nothing dumped into your well at all.
However, the pulsing metered pump they first installed has finally bit the dust. No matter what material you use if it is a petroleum derivative, the chlorine will finally get to it. The pump they installed is no longer serviceable. Other pump sellers will tell you how bad that pump was (of course they would). Anyway, time to replace the pump, and I would suggest a peristaltic or a solenoid pump. Be careful, as the metering pumps some may suggest are almost $1,000. I decided on a solenoid pump Hanna BL10-1 Blackstone 10.8 l/hr and 43 psi. It has glass valves to prevent back flow, and was $174. It has good reviews...I am installing it now. It has one dial that determines how much liquid issues from the pump...since my well determines when this thing turns on and off, that is all I need.
