Update we did everything right canceling are home security. Got are money back after sharing on Google map ? thanks google gods!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm really not happy with Vivint. Much false information up front and un trained technicians. My doorbell camera only runs ay 24% and glitches all the time. I wanted two more cameras added to my finance plan which i was told i could do in 60 days but no i need to pay up front now. Not going that extra mile to make a customer happy. Shame

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I worked door to door sales in this industry for years. Vivint was purchased by Blackstone Group in 2012. Blackstone Group has close business ties with Palantir, which is a big data analytics firm. Vivint sells the data it collects from your home to Palantir. Vivint will try to sell you on home video, home monitoring etc. Your security system sends that data to Vivint's servers, thats how you are able to access your home camera's remotely. From Vivint's servers it is sent to Palantir (and probably other third parties).
If you are interested in home security, you can get a proper system that doesn't spy on you

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Service wasn't bad 7 years ago but we got stuck in a contract. Last few years their service sucks. They were supposed to ship out new fire alarms but they never arrived. When I called months later I was told they were never shipped because of customs. Finally our contract expired so I called to cancel, but no you have to email another department to cancel, which I did. But then they won't cancel service because my spouse signed the now expired contract. He called them and they want another email. The email address doesn't work, no one ever responds to the emails (and they didn't bounce back).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When I cancelled my service the new company I switched to disconnected the system and said "vivint will be calling any time now"
They didn't. My system showed normal activity for 4 months After it was disconnected.
I was billed for over a year, on my credit card and had to dispute every charge. I was assured at least 6 times my contract was cancelled and a refund would be processed. Finally filed a complaint with the BBB, received an email and phone call confirming my contract was cancelled effective Sept /30 and to expect a refund.
Unbelievable, dishonest, shoddy business practises
