Not for everyone, but if your kid loves STEM it’s a great option. Definitely not to be used as a babysitting program, make sure your kid wants to be there so they can make the most of it

Terrible experience for younger children. My daughter was in the engineering girls camp in August. Virtual Ventures does not tell you that the cafeteria doesn't allow outside food due to strict allergy control. My daughter has allergies and prefers to eat her own food, though the cafeteria lunch is included in the camp fee. The two instructors and the volunteer told her she couldn't eat her own food, so she spent all day without eating a single thing. These three (presumably) university students didn't have a lick of common sense - it didn't occur to them to find my daughter somewhere else to eat her food. There is apparently a camp policy that anyone bringing their own food can eat in the camp office, as they cannot eat in the cafeteria. None of the instructors knew this policy. Overall, the camp staff displayed very poor judgement. I would not trust them to handle an emergency situation competently. They did not seem equiped to deal with elementary-age kids. I will keep my daughter in camps run by competent adults in the future.

This was a great camp and my daughter had such a great time. Kudos to your staff for a job well done. She is already looking forward to next year!

Fantastic club. If you want your kids to learn STEM, sign them up immediately.

Program coordinators for the 2018-2019 year were not the best choice. Staff only cares about getting together to party. Staff does not support the arts, but that generally is the Carleton Engineering culture. Does not promote creative thinking. UOttawa has a way more accepting environment and so many better summer camp options.

The kits for the current week of camp (Clever Creators, July 19th to July 23rd) have been poorly organized. Missing items in 3 of 5 activities so far and it is only Wednesday. The course instructors are then forced to pivot and adapt, resulting in lost camp time. Additionally, the camp website link is rarely operational. I am extremely disappointed with this purchase, my daughters are not receiving anywhere near the value of the registration paid. I feel embarrassed to have recommended this to other parents.
