J	Jason Cook on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Oh my. I haven't been served this well in a long time. The people skills in this restaurant are fantastic. The decor is gorgeous. You know when Google asks if the restaurant you're at is cozy? Well this establishment is the definition of it. Great selection of wine to accompany the delicious meals that are well explained and delivered. There's also a private room for groups that is simply divinely decorated. Did I mention how good the service is? Oh I did? Well let me me tell you that it's so nice, I'll write it twice.

The decor and the service look like they were straight from the 80's, which was quite charming in some way. Then the food. Just after catching a glimpse of the menue all the members of my party realised how expensive the food was. Priced like a casual fine dinning restaurant in the downtown of Montreal, my expectations were suddenly quite higher than when I first entered the villa. Ordered the table d'hôte, for $60, which included an appetizer (sweat potato cream), entree (osso bucco) and dessert (crème de caramel). The portions were big enough but the presentation was seriously lacking precision and style. The food was good but not extraordinary. The dessert menu should seriously be updated as I was quite reminiscent of a "Cantina" in the 90's and my creme the caramel was quite bland. Otherwise, I must say that the service was excellent and the staff was always there when we needed them. Then the wine. This restaurant really does have a fantastic wine selection but the hot mess that is their wine list made it seriously difficult to browse, as no vintages were indicated and the thing looked more like a scrapbooking project than a wine list. With the help of our waiter, we finally started with the 2000 Sito Moresco from Gaya, priced at $200. Wine was well preserved and the wine service was great. Overall, the experience remained fun, mainly because of the service, staff and wine selection.

Ordered our food and was served with changes to the ingredients of our choices...we decided on the house wine that was recommended, Vin Imp Prive at 69.95 a bottle and found it online at 10.54 a bottle the next day in CDN dollars, see picture attached. That is 563% mark-up on the wine?? That is truely disgusting to the customers... Would not recommend this place to anyone... period.

The menu is just so generous, pricing is fair, food is fresh and delightful! Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Fast service meeting our expectations. The place to go for a real Italian experience to remember. Not to crowded, intimate ambiance, we don't regret at all ! Don't waste your time looking for his competitor's place, Villa Massimo is where your taste buds wants to eat! ♡
