A well run home for the elderly people full of historical facts and a beutiful garden where to bring family members for a get together and spend some time talking about old memories.

I find Villa Colombo to be dirty....too many outbreaks even before the corona virus, management needs to be on top of the cleaning staff I find the nursing staff and psw workers Lazy, and do the bare minimum....

The facility is a total messed Covid is out of control until Humber River Hospital came along and taken over the management. They failed the Staff, they failed the Families, and they failed the Residents!

Tonight on September 1, 2018. I walked in to a wonderful, elegant and beautiful venue. The floors were shiny and the place smelled fantastic. They have a wonderful front yard where the cocktail party was taken place. The staff were friendly and elegant during service. The food was great as well. Steve the manager was always on cue and didn’t miss a beat. I recommend this place if you are getting married or want to host an event!!!

Too many gossips and politics in this place. Everyone knows everybody’s business. Management only nice if they can asked and forced you to work everyday until your body dropped. They asked too many personal questions at sick calls and disregard how you feel at the moment. Management really needs a total clean up! Very toxic environment to work for. COVID-19 exposes the wrong practices we been thought by this place.

If I can give lower that a one star I’ll do it. Some nurses and psw’s are really doing a great job in this facility but gets less appreciation from families and the management! The people who manages this place from top to bottom really needs a real CHANGE!! Maybe you should learned how to care for your own staff first before expecting too much from them. These staff leaves their own homes to care for these residents! EVERY SINGLE DAY! 24/7!! They are also humans and gets burned-out at the end of the day! I salute the Management of Humber River Hospital for taking over the Management!

RE: VC Dufferin/Lawrence location. Families should be able to have access to the doctor on staff who makes weekly rounds, Dr. R. Battista. Family members should be able to speak directly to the doctor (not through a middle-person) concerning their senior's medication and overall wellness. Never heard of a doctor that we cannot speak to directly concerning our senior's care. Please change this policy. In addition, please warn families that the admission process takes 4-6 hours so individuals can book time off work to admit their senior. Please advise families that clothing labelling includes high heat and can cause damage to some clothing items. Please replace strong cleaning/disinfecting products containing strong chemical odors with unscented or natural alternatives so that staff and seniors aren't inhaling these lingering chemicals on their floor on a daily basis; especially because the world is moving toward fragrance free environments/workplaces due to allergies. With respect to on-site laundry facilities...items continue to go missing. If articles of clothing are labelled with the senior's name and bed number, how is it that clothing continues to go missing or is found in another senior's drawer? Additionally, with much of the senior population speaking Italian, wouldn't it make sense to ensure that there is always an Italian speaking nurse or staff member available on each floor, for each shift, in the event of a medical emergency so that the senior can communicate their health concern and in turn be able to answer any questions being asked of them concerning their symptoms? As for the bathroom drawers, there should be mechanisms in place that does not allow for the substantial drawer to be completely pulled out so that it and its contents lands on a senior's foot. With respect to virtual town hall meetings, a rushed 30 minute session with families on mute--no words, except to say it feels like corporate governance; checking off a box to indicate that it's been done. Now we're hearing about expired flu vaccines (Global News) that were administered to seniors......Jesus take the wheel! Thanks to the PSWs and nurses who are doing/giving their best under the circumstances.

Villa Colombo is the cream of the crop best of the best. My cousins, family and my Italian community celebrate this [place. My Grandparents were here and they loved it, we have seen family members and friends living and deceased and everyone had nothing but warm wishes about the people, the food, the service and this establishment. Villa Colombo will always be a special place in my heart because of the care and the respect and dignity they gave and keep, giving to our loved ones. God Rest In Peace Nonna and Nonno. Thank you for always being there Villa :)
