While Mr. Greenwell delivers a thoughtful and exceedingly helpful review of the View Street Parkade ("parking structure" to our non-Canadian viewers), and in stark contrast to the review written by Mr. Willson which has a signal to noise ratio of zero and is a few seconds of my life I will never get back, there are a few missing elements. Firstly though I would like to second the kudos for use of colour - this should be the MINIMUM for all parking structure signage, and I would like to see flower or animal icons so that I can have my children help remember where the car is parked using a fun game, a strategy often used by other organizations. The main positive point my esteemed Parking Connoisseurs missed completely is the breezeway through to Fort Street. This is often a huge time and step saver, and is consistent with the other pass-throughs mid-block. On the negative side, I can't help but completely disagree with Mr. Greenwell's poetic waxing around the "marvel" spiral exit. This is both incredibly disturbing to the roughly one-third of people that get motion sickness, and based on the scrapes on the wall beyond the skills of many drivers. A descent from the top floor is akin to a descent into hell, matched by spectrum all the way to red. In addition, if you have ever tried to "return to parking" after completing this horror (rather than exiting via the toll booths), you will also know that you must abandon all hope if you are in a vehicle larger than a Smart Car. I should also point out that this parkade is much farther away from the places that I generally like to go when I am downtown, which makes the Fisgard Street Parking structure vastly superior in almost every sense.

It was a thrill to park in this lot. It is was busy so we had to go all the way up to level 6. At first I experienced apprehension about the slow spirally climb to level 6, as I really needed the bathroom, but once we parked, we were rewarded with the most beautiful shade of purple. As previously mentioned by my fellow reviewers, the building is charmingly colour-coded, and boy oh boy would I really recommend the journey to level 6 just for this exquisite shade. At once calming and refreshing, Level Six Purple will bring you hope, connection, and entertainment. We waited for the elevator for about a hundred years, but this afforded my friend and I ample time for a photoshoot next to the purple level 6 sign for her tinder profile. My friend was visiting from Vancouver, so I'm so glad I could show her a really special highlight of our city that she just couldn't find at home. We also enjoyed the spiralling descent out of the building, and marvelled at how no accidents happened. I will absolutely have to come back to check out this rooftop sunset everyone is talking about. In summation, this parking lot has a lot to offer in the areas of aesthetics, connection, thrills, and also parking. Enjoy <3

You can park for free for a maximum of 1 hour downstairs. You have to remove you car after that. You can also park longer upstairs (CAD 2/hour). Parking spaces are a bit small. You have to pay using an app. Convenient location.

Good central location and usually has spots available. I also like that they now have a security guard patrolling as well.

Love this parkade. The walk through from fort class at 6pm so it's just a small diversion up to Blanshard or down to Douglas to walk to their front doors on view. Friendly staff. Security is wonderful. In the morning he always has a smile and a wave which starts the day off great. He's saved me from being run down by rushing drivers as they peel out through the inside crosswalk. Thank you for that. The rates are good and they're open late. The elevator is wonky, always has been. Sometimes one is working, rarely both, occasionally neither. They do post a sign that tells you on entering if elevator isn't working. I have bad knees,( too many years in nursing walking those hospital floors, ) and when elevators are out of service I have parked in the 3 hours slot on first level and not received a ticket for over time. If it was just a fluke then I'm lucky. But they have always been gracious and pleasant. Occasionally I will park up top hat so I cans we the sunset views and look over Victoria.

Great location, near St. Andrew's Catherdal (Catholic church). Still has 1st hour free parking which is now the basement parking stalls. Like the rest of the City of Victoria parkades, it is pay by number at the blue stations.

Victoria has a war on cars. They used to offer first hour free. They still do, but after the hour, you get a $40 ticket. Don't visit downtown, but if you are desperate enough to have to visit, use on-street parking. Seriously: shop at a mall, or go to Langford or Sidney. Avoid downtown Victoria.
