So many good things to say where do l start. The office and team are super professional. In my case I had infected tooth and was in pain for a couple of days. After one call the office moved around a few appointments to fit me to see the surgeon the same day! Really helped me get out of a deep whole as l was travelling the next day. Highly recommended. Plus comfortable waiting room chairs and good music!

From day one, I wasn't comfortable there. A dentist assistant I know told me that's one of the red flag and go elsewhere. I still stayed, I didn't get much respect from the dentist who has repeatedly being rude to me. After my crown was placed, I've been having issues and he kept pushing me to get mouth guard, my bite has been off since the placement of the crown. Long story short, one red flag was the fact he worked on my teeth before cleaning. Be sure to get cleaning done before you get work done. I do plan to transfer to another dental place, currently searching for one and hope I find the right one, because my tooth with the crown is currently aching and sadly I'm not comfortable to call for them to fix the issue because I don't need any negative behavior from the dentist. I'm glad everyone else got good experience but I experience a bad one which is fine. Everyone will always have different experiences. Dental hygienist was the best experience I have, I'd definitely will continue to go for cleaning.

Quality care. The staff are friendly, helpful and forgiving - they allow you the time and space to make decisions and try to help you to work out financing the work they do on your teeth. I have been a patient of Dr. Bruce Tranter and the dental hygienists for just over a year. I have found them to be good listeners and to provide good advice and to do good work on my teeth. The only reason I am giving 4 stars and not 5 is because the Clinic tacks on amounts over and above what my insurance is willing to cover - every visit. Having said this, I don't know how common this practice is in Victoria. Perhaps it is because of the higher cost of living here? Maybe dentists in Victoria need to charge more in order to have the same standard of living as other dentists across the province..?

I have taken my business to another practice and wouldn’t recommend Vic West Dentistry to anyone. While the dentist himself seemed good, I can’t say that about the office staff. The 1st problem was that they charged me $200 for β€˜sedation’. That’s $200 for writing a prescription for Ativan and sticking a heart monitor on my thumb. I was not impressed. I was also on the mainland for a couple of months and wanted to pay by debit, so they had to wait for their $228. Upon my return, I settled up and apologized for the delay. After that I was informed by office staff that it was MY job to contact Canada Life to determine my coverage for each and every procedure. Of course they didn’t give me an itemized list of the work, so I’m not sure how they expected me to do that. Nevertheless, if I didn’t have a response from Canada Life by the time of the appointment (4 days away), I would need to give them a deposit of $650. At that point I pulled the plug. It was clear that they didn’t want my business. When I called around to other dental clinics, they expressed surprise. Despite what Vic West claims, charging $200 for writing a prescription is NOT common practice and many dentists do it for free. On top of that, they ALL (including Vic West) have EFT systems directly linked to all the major insurance companies, so there’s no need for the client to worry about getting estimates themselves. My new practice was able to connect with Canada Life while we were on the phone and tell me exactly what was covered. I think the office staff simply wanted to be rid of me. It worked and I can’t thank them enough. I’m now with a great dentist who doesn’t overcharge and the staff are more interested in providing service than playing stupid games.

This is by far the best dental office i have ever been to. Every person i have spoken with has actually cared, and it shows. Dr Tranter is amazing, and the amount of work i have had done with virtually no pain, or anxiety I never thought was possible. His assistant is fantastic and she works very hard to ensure you are comfortable and managed to help me through problems no other dentist or assistant was able to help with. I only wish I found this office sooner as it would have shown me what is possible. I receimend them to all of my family and friends.

Happy with the dental care I've received here and was wisely recommended by the dentist to have a skin spot looked at. Sure glad i took his advice as it turned out to be early skin cancer and has since been removed. Definitely recommend?

Really friendly staff. They sorted my insurance for me right than and there. They do direct billing. Very helpful staff. I had no anxiety during my cleaning and check up. Dental hygienist explained everything as she went. Very happy with my move to this new dentist. ALSO easy access to parking. No hassle at all.
