Today I was walking in downtown Vernon for the first time in a while. I got excited when I saw that someone opened up a card shop here, as before Kelowna was the closest place. I walk in excited, but that's not how I left.
The attendant (owner?) didn't say hello, so I awkwardly browsed the sparse selection. I gave him a pass, because he was getting autographs from Ferner. Another person entered the shop and also didn't get a hello. After Ferner left, he got to me. I asked him what baseball card I could get for $40, so he recommends me a pack scalped from Walmart (Royal Blue is a giveaway) for $15, or a $150 box. I think "screw it" and take the $15 Walmart pack even though that is a little sketchy. He takes it to the till and without a word rings me up. I say "Thanks man" and get no reply, or any recognition I just bought anything from his shop.
I understand that selling small packs isn't your main business, but if you want any sort of success you need to be personable. Better customer service leads to higher sales.
Hopefully this was just a bad moment. I'd love for a good card store to succeed here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love coming here as much as I can. Shane has true passion for what he does and he's always willing to help out customers who may not know a whole lot. Amazing customer service. I saw a little kid walk in with his dad just to check things out, not even to buy but Shane cracked open a box of cards and gave the little tyke a few packs free of charge. If that's not passion for the hobby then I don't know what is

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ worst shop in bc... bad service. they dont know how to authenticate cards, almost not knowledge when it comes to set variations and cards, worst shop hands down. everyone in town knows they dont check their cards. if u want fakes go here, you just might get some. worst shop hands down
