Everything is covered in dust and its all over priced. Bought some milk there only to find out it had expired that day. Also if you chose not to buy anything be prepared for the owners to harass you with questions until they can convince you to buy something. Just saying theres other small local businesses your money would be better off going to.

This place is terrible. New owners are terrible First time i was over charged and pointed it out to the lady. 2nd time i was over charged again. 3rd time i asked do u sell advil? He had no idea what i was saying. Tylenol i said, still had no idea. Then i asked for rolling papers and still did not get the ones i was asking for. Not to be rude, but if you can not speak english or know the products u sell, maybe you should not own a buisness. Honestly i have a better knowledge of the items u sell I would go here because it is close, now i just would rather walk 15 min extra and not support this terrible place

I live in the building directly above this store, so I’ve been here a million times. Previous ownership was incredible but the current one took over in late 17 or early 18 and I’ve genuinely had nothing but negative experiences since. For starters, it took over a month to get their tobacco license and it used to be my main place to get smokes. Months later, I get the same brand every time and the guy always reaches for the wrong one and forces me to repeat myself. Also, my wife and I used to go there to get potato chips sometimes when we were staying in for lazy evenings, but the selection is scarce and frankly puzzling compared to before. The place isn’t even called Goody’s anymore - they’ve renamed it Venus Market. I don’t usually write these things (this may be my first one), but this morning was the last straw: The previous owners opened at 8 and, having a feeling the new ones changed it, I checked Google, which said 9. OK fine. So I went down to the place to find the door locked with a weak β€œ10” pathetically scrawled with a dying marker over the 9 that still clearly shows. To boot, THE OPEN SIGN IS UP! I have a picture and I wish I could attach it so everyone could see what these folks call professionalism. Finally - and I REALLY hate to have to include this - he speaks practically zero English. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. UPDATE: Swung by at 9:35 on my way to run errands and they were suddenly open. I throw my hands up in defeat. SMH

Always friendly. Good selection of random household items, food, treats, and even a little bit of produce! Pretty cheap stuff too. Has items you don't even know you need. Free hot chocolate or coffee if you spend over 10 dollars. Pretty good hours. I honestly go there pretty much every day. I like it and I think you will too

Canpar Courier ships their parcels if you are not at home or business to Venus Market. I have two tracking stickers for obviously two parcels. The lady tells me to look for the package myself. I asked her to repeat what she said, and she again, go look for yourself! Paying the extra bucks and dealing with Canada Post is great. Canada Post doesn't make you do that, but at Venus Market they do. I had to look through each parcels twice to make sure my parcel wasn't missed. I had to get customer service on the phone, and basically the husband and wife team was not much help on the phone. I was about to leave the store when the guy says to me, "I don't even want this stuff here. I no longer want to be delivery service, Way too much work!" Am thinking, you didn't do anything, cause I was looking. It takes a section from your end of your counter for space, and looking around, you have no customers in the store for the 15 minutes I was there. I told him, he needs to call Canpar if he wants to discontinue the contract. He looked baffled. I give up!

A few years ago I would have given this place a 5/5 but since the new ownership the quality of goods, prices and selection have seriously gone downhill. Most of the product is just purchased at Walmart and marked up. On top of that, they now have no hours posted outside, and on numerous occasions Ive been down at 11am on a weekday and they are closed. Rarely they will post a sign saying "back in 30" etc but no time as to when that 30 min started. It's a shame, but my family have dubbed it The Inconvenience Store

The place itself has a good mix of essentials like eggs and gift bags, and some fun items like ice cream and rose water for cooking. As others have said, the hours are a bit unreliable. We went for brunch next door and saw the cashier come in at about 10 to 11, and opened up maybe 20 minutes later. We went in after brunch and he was perfectly friendly, though. A fine place to grab necessities in the middle of the afternoon if you don't want to make a trip to a grocery store, but frankly it's too big for the amount of stuff it needs to carry! Half the space could easily be seating for a cafe, arcade or similar hangout.

If I could give this a minus score I would. One of the rudest owners ever. I just asked a simple question and he lost it on me, started screaming and swearing in front of my 7 yr old son. No idea what happened, he just snapped. Never go here, worse customer service
