It was fast, they give you clear simple instructions for where to go and what to do. And for regular household items, free. ?

Another government cash cow. This should be free. Ridiculous prices this is why people pollute. Don't believe the "Local Guides" either. Those reviews are lies and fluff. Service is terrible, staff are rude and miserable. And don't bother calling, they will never answer.

They no longer empty your 5 gallon pail of used oil! I use a pail with a spout on the lid, filling it with my used oil. The reason I do this is I have to buy 2x 5 liter jugs to change my oil as my truck takes 7 liters. Because of this, I can't empty the used oil back into the jugs because there is 3 liters of new oil left in one. Anyway, I used to come here and they would empty my pail and give it back to me for reuse. No longer. They refused to but would take the whole thing. When asked what they do with 5L jugs, they say them empty them. When asked why they can't do a 5 gallon pail, they said it is hazardous to them. Really? What a ridiculous excuse seeing as both could be considered hazardous. I even offered to dump it myself and they refused. What a joke.

Lots of people when I went today but the lineup moved fast. Lots of people working to guide the cars around and social distancing with masks in effect. Impressed with the speed and good organization.

I consider myself somewhat of an expert when it comes to throwing trash into the bin. I've been doing it since I was 4 years old my mother said "Justin, your old enough to throw out your own trash". So when I say this is 5 star location for throwing out garbage, you've got to believe me.

This place used to be very convenient. I always did my part to recycle, and even dropped off friends electronics waste, etc. here. But, honestly, now there is a lineup for a weigh station to get in, which really takes away the simplicity and convenience. To add to the nuisance, there is not direct entrance from Hwy 7 when arriving from the east, so you have to wait ten minutes in HWY 7 traffic to get to a light, just to go back a Kilometer to the recycling center. There should be a hwy 7 entrance, AND a separate flow through entrance for dropping off household electronic waste/batteries/scrap metal, etc. God knows the place is overstaffed enough to police this. If someone has chargeable items, just send them out and back through the weigh station.

I go to the site a few times a year to recycle all my scrap metal, shoes, boots and textiles. Construction waste is also taken, although it's sad they no longer recycle clean drywall.
