★ ★ ★ ★ ★ VCL, Vancouver Community Laboratory, was kicked out of their affordable art workshop/studio and educational space by the Great Northern Way Land Trust... supposedly GNW has a mandate to foster education and the arts... as it turns out they have a mandate to refuse to negotiate a new lease and kick out a vibrant artist collective, only to replace them with a commercial art gallery. We still have not found a new space since we got the boot in August 2012.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was getting harassed over some supposedly unwritten rules about welder usage. I changed how I use the welder once told about the rule (i.e. resetting to "default" settings) and was later kicked out anyway, allegedly because I was still violating the rule. Has a lot of trades/commercial people and hyper-competitive types enforcing their social cliques...most tools are defective or worn out and the space is kind of shabby despite an excellent ventillation system for production welding if that's what you need.
