Really bad experience with this cat rescue. We adopted a beautiful cat named Columbus, and he passed 3 months after adoption. We adopted him as our first cat and were told he was healthy and around the age of 3. He was a little skinny and lethargic but we didn't know any better. It was our fault for not taking him to an initial vet appointment but Nicola assured us that he was very healthy and went to the vet that morning. We had contacted her for vet records multiple times and was never sent anything. This should have been a huge red flag. Fast forward 3 month he's gained weight, feeling like a whole different cat. He then starts vomiting, and falls to his first seizure. We call emerg and was told to monitor him for the night. He suffers a second seizure the same evening and we go to see if we can save him. We get to the vet and find out he is extremely unhealthy. He had liver disease and was assessed to be the age of 11+. I am not sad to have adopted a senior cat I wish the cat rescue had done a better job of informing us. Now having experience with more cats you can really tell that bubba was sick and old. For Nicola not to tell us or not know is equally horrible. When I reached out to her to let her know what happened I was given the standard "sorry to hear that, his last few months were amazing thanks" with nothing addressing his age or any ownership of their mistake. I would recommend going a different route if you are looking to adopt a cat as I would not trust them. If you do adopt from them please do a vet check immediately to save yourself heartbreak, and be able to prepare yourself emotionally and financially.
