About Urban Farmhouse Fabric
About Us 
Beaver Creek Mercantile was started to support a compassion quilt ministry. Owner, Sharlene Jennings, started sewing her own clothes in her pre-teen years and has been passionate about sewing ever since.
With the event of marriage and raising children, sewing took a backseat to work and family obligations for awhile. As soon as the her two sons were old enough to be on their own, though, Sharlene enrolled in a fun & done quilting class, and since 2008, she’s completed hundreds of quilts.
When Sharlene isn’t enjoying the company of her family, she loves helping out her customers here at our store in Caroline, Alberta, where the welcoming atmosphere provides visitors with a pleasant shopping experience, along with warm smiles, engaging conversation, and plenty of creative inspiration.
Meeting the creative needs of customers is our # 1 priority! That's why we go the extra mile to provide them with the best selection of fabrics, sewing notions, quilting supplies (and more!) the industry has to offer...not to mention the friendliest service around!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were in Red Deer for other reasons and stopped near this gem of a Fabric Store. While not a gigantic store by any stretch of the imagination, we were a le to find what we were looking for. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I think we will stop here again when in Red Deer.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was pleased the Indigenous community posted alerts to give quilt shops carrying these EVERY CHILD MATTERS blocks. I never know this shop existed until my community directed me because of these blocks. Other than these I did not really see much Indigenous inspired prints. Lots of beautiful florals though! I did also buy unicorn fabric for my granddaughter. Prices on par for the lovely cottons.
