Michael and his team were contracted to construct a duplex development project for us. From start to finish I was impressed with the experience, integrity and professionalism of the entire Upward team. They delivered on time and on budget. Communication was clear, consise, consistent and open. Any hicups along the way were dealt with quickly and solutions were always well thought out. Onsite supervision was managed by Geoff, a fully licenced and experienced carpenter who not only managed the project and sub trades full time but also did double duty as a working manager 100% of the time with meticulous attention to detail. The site was always neat, tidy, organized and safe. Once complete, both units sold within days and well above market price. When my husband were looking at building our custom home we were anxious not knowing where to start. We had friends that had some very negative experiences with contractors they had worked with so having a trust worthy team was important to us. Upward was completely transparent with us throughout the process on timing and budget, and guided us through the processes every step along the way. We would like to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to Michael Upward, Matthew Inkster, Jason Peterson and the entire Upward Construction team for working with us to realize our dream of creating our new ‘age in place’ home. We had a building lot and a vision – where to go from there? Having engaged Upward Construction several years ago to help us with a major 8 month renovation of our previous home, we knew they would be up to the task of assisting us with the construction of our new home. The team was actively engaged with us through every step, from the initial design meetings, preliminary discussions with the District of West Vancouver through decommissioning and demolition of the old home to site preparation and ultimately the actual build itself. Our interests were aligned throughout the process and, as such, we reached our goal efficiently. Anyone who has built a home knows there are thousands of decisions to be made and that there will be issues and surprises throughout. In our case, we were able to minimize the surprises with planning and by dealing with any issues that arose by meeting them head-on and immediately. We were fortunate to be building 5 doors from our home at the time and, therefore, able to meet on site at the beginning or end of the day, if necessary. Jason, our site superintendent, maintained excellent and regular communication with us throughout the build. If there was any detail that required further input or Jason thought there was something that may not suit us, he was in touch and we met. I know we had many 5 minute meetings that saved hours of potential changes in the long run. To build a great home you need to start with a great foundation and to us that foundation starts with a great team. Thanks again to the Upwards and the whole construction team for a job well done! We highly recommend Upward Construction for a project that will run on time, on budget and be built by skilled carpenters. Our home was renovated by craftsmen who did all in their power to keep to the design despite any challenge that inevitably presents in a project. Our Project Manager communicated extremely well and was always clear about problem solving options, next steps, results of inspections, and budget status. Upward sources trades that understand and meet their high standards for quality and timelines. We have been very happy with the results of our time spent getting to know this company and its wonderful staff.

Upward Construction under the watchful eye of Michael and Geoff built our dream house which we moved into about a year ago. The Upward Team built a high quality house for our family. During the construction Upward was very timely in responding to any concerns we may have had, communication lines were always open and issues were addressed quickly. The Upward Team was extremely professional, responsive and courteous. We even got feedback from neighbors regarding Upward Construction stating how impressed were with the professionalism, thoughtfulness and keeping them aware of the goings on of the project. Having monthly face to face meetings were very useful. It is worth noting that Upward Construction never takes a short cut in building houses, they are all about quality and great workmanship. This certainly is very evident in the final finished product. We hired Upward to do a full home renovation. Our home was 50 years old and was in need of a major face lift. Upward created our dream home basically down to the studs. All aspects and details were carefully covered by their careful planning. This made the process very easy especially since both of us were busy with full time work. If you're reading my review, all I can say is this. If you're looking for a team who will listen to you, incorporate your ideas, are PATIENT, are creative, will work within your budget, and exceed your expectations, talk to Upward!

We couldn't have been happier with our project and the Upward team! Upward completed a fabulous renovation of our family home. The quality of work was outstanding, from the planning to the finish touches of construction. Upward was always ready with the solutions before we even realized there was a problem. They were very helpful and engaged from the first stages of planning all the way through the end, making sure that every small detail was taken care of.
