Twin Feather Shop - Lebret

Hi everyone, my name is Keiara.

I am a mother, a Métis, African American, Irish & Scottish Woman, and the owner/proprietor of Twin Feather Shop.

Twin Feather is the manifestation of my own healing journey and alignment with spirituality and community. As a youth I struggled with teenage substance abuse and addiction, which was the result of what I now understand to be childhood and intergenerational trauma.

In my youth I always felt connected to the metaphysical & spiritual realms. I frequently took part in ceremonies and felt a bond with Mother Earth through nature and plant medicines, but there were blockages from my shadow self and pain that I needed to fully understand in order to truly heal from.

My unconventional & life-saving spiritual journey began during the darkest time of my life. I was blessed with the guidance of many spiritual leaders, elders and teachers along my journey, but none gave me as much meaning and purpose during that time as my beautiful newborn son, Felix.

During the first month of my recovery I found a sense of belonging and community with a small group of people that lived spiritually centered lives, and I began to embrace different healing modalities such as; the embodiment of yoga, sound healing, card readings, and meditation.

While I was finding healing and feeling incredible love from community and motherhood, my passion to inspire others on their individual healing journeys was ignited. I started facilitating cacao ceremonies, guided meditations and holding space for people in need.

While forging bonds within my small local community, I had the idea to open up a store with a mission of helping a larger community by promoting the traditional healing methods that I had learned, and which have had a tremendous impact on my life.

I felt inspired, although I knew I wasn’t ready to take on so much responsibility. Instead of opening my store, I decided to enroll in school with the same aim of helping people heal.

I’m I was almost done my schooling to become a paramedic when the COVID-19 pandemic hit Regina, so my class was postponed and I was taken off my practicum course. I was discouraged, but in hindsight I know I was gifted with five months to be able to re-connect with myself and spirit while rehabilitating from my newly acquired traumas and stressors. 

During the pandemic lockdown, it became clear that I needed to go after what I was passionate about. The time to reflect gave me the motivation, the drive, and the faith that it was time to manifest my growing vision of Twin Feather.

I love my job as a paramedic and am grateful I have the freedom to also run the shop! 

Twin Feather Shop is an online store, based in Saskatchewan, Canada, that sells metaphysical items. The main goal of Twin Feather Shop is to inspire people to heal and give back to communities in need, this in turn spreads awareness of sacred Indigenous traditions & spiritual practices, along with other traditional healing modalities.

Twin Feather’s vision is to make spiritual healing more accessible to everyone, to carry forth the knowledge passed on by our ancestors, and to give back what was taught to me.
