★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Smooth lock thru with helpful experienced staff. We took advantage of this shower (a rare treat for boaters on the Trent-Severn) beautiful tile, excellent adjustable hot water with great pressure. Would be a quiet place to spend the night.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Another peaceful camping and mooring for boaters on the Trent-Severn. The site is a great spot for hiking around as there is a gorgeous stretch of open river below the not so faraway damn. The damn itself is intriguing, with old equipment on rails used for moving spectacular wooden beams around. Taking a walk under the tree canopy of the island towards the damn is like walking through an enchanted forest about to reveal a special secret. As is the case with most lock stations, the staff are pleasant and the grounds impeccably groomed. We loved this setting and it was a special bonus that a shower is located at the lock station, useable to boaters for the modest cost of $3.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a nice spot to stop and have lunch. During the summer you can watch the boats coming through.
There is ample spots for camping here if you come by boat, bike or on foot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Camped in the OTenTiks over summer. Site no. 2 was amazing (large lot.and lots of privacy). If you just want privacy, the site no. 1 is better but smaller in size. The Parks Canada staff on duty were really helpful. Would want to come back here again.
