Trebas Institute

Can't wait to do this! I'm officially done and left with a confidence. I took the Audio Engineer program and totally happy about my decision for choosing Trebas over others. All the instructors are up-to-date with the real-time experiences, they always eager to share the most useful and time saving techniques to help working proficiency and efficiency. New things to learn everyday so make sure you get your priorities right before you sign up because all you need is to FOCUS! Plus, the program offer such a great help in searching jobs after graduate, definitely a big thanks to Mrs. Dora from the Career Department, awesome awesome human being, she been following up and giving input to ensure that everyone will have a decent job within the field, especially in this most competitive time. Tips: Be alert and get on top of things! You will get better marks, better performance, better pay (maybe) :D Thanks again, Trebas Institute!

My son attended Trebas in Toronto and I can testify that from the initial meeting with admissions; right through to graduating, everyone I came into contact with at Trebas was professional and extremely helpful and caring. The education and training Dan received from industry pros was absolutely stellar. I personally saw some of the projects and work he was doing. To me it appeared that the whole process was well planned to give students everything needed for the realities and challenges of a career in a chosen profession. For anyone that goes all in for the furthering of their own personal growth ,the experience of an education at Trebas will be rewarding and life changing.

I attended this school in 2017 and I had a horrible experience. First off, Trebas is not what they advertise it to be. They sold me on the idea that everyone there was a musician and how they were a very music centered school.... they're not. This school is a mix of very weird classes that do not fit together. For example, they have studio classes and classes about post production, yet throw in weird classes like DJ "arts" and songwriting. A very strange mixed bag for the short amount of time you're here. The program is one year when it should really be two. Having 11 classes jam packed into the first semester was a nightmare. I think the reason they have such a weird mix of classes is because there's not enough "room" in the music industry for everyone. If you guys taught everyone properly, perhaps you wouldn't have to focus on other subjects such as "foley & post production for film" They claim to be teaching music and engineering etc, yet they don't even teach you how to use a keyboard or how to ACTUALLY produce music. One thing I don't like is how you don't get to choose any of your classes. When I attended the teacher for the DJ class had broken his leg so we were ripped off for about 4 weeks of classes and NEVER received a refund for them. Not only is this school false advertising what goes on here, they rip you off as well for the amount you pay for what you get ($20,000). Studio classes were fun but the teachers are old, crusty and miserable. All of them should just stick to engineering and maybe leave teaching alone. The teachers are bitter and unhelpful. They humiliate you in class, which is not what i'm paying $20,000 for. They're condescending and have an attitude of "i'm not going to teach you to the best of my ability because I don't want you to steal my job" Not all teachers were horrible (Buck, Steve who teaches Mixing, Steve who teaches MIDI, Darius & Trevor - who I believe doesn't teach there anymore) I remember during my first semester here one of the teachers said to us "You know you can just learn all of this stuff on youtube right?" and he was right LOL. This "school" is a joke, don't waste your money. Just a PSA you should absolutely get rid of the songwriting class because it doesn't serve any function at all. You have songwriting for the first semester and that's it. Not only is the teacher an idiot but it's just a waste of space and money. The teacher isn't even an actual teacher and I highly doubt she's gone to teaching school - she's a singer/songwriter and not a very good one either. I really wish I hadn't gone here. I left feeling VERY unprepared and just honestly confused by the whole ordeal. Such a rip off. $20,000 down the drain. Do NOT listen to what some of these reviews say.

I attended Trebas Institute for their Audio Engineering & Production Program and just graduated in this past October (2016). There are so many learning experiences you can take with you when you are in the presence of their fantastic instructors, staff and students. And as long as you are confident and dedicated to your craft, working opportunities and collaborative projects are around every corner there! This school offers various labs which are well equipped and maintained for use in and outside of classes regularly. These facilities were absolutely beneficial to me because they offered certain pieces of gear and programs I did not have at home! I used to stay after classes and work on recording my own demos and mixes in the MIDI, ProTools and Post-Production labs. The course curriculum covers a broad variety of job fields in the Audio Industry and involves a lot of assignments! Many of these projects have been integral to the development of professional demo reels and portfolios for students to take with them. And not only that, but the intense workload is a test of how effectively you can manage your time while still delivering a high quality product. If you are seriously passionate about what you do and want to have a career in doing that, you have the capacity to succeed and this school will help you get there. 10/10 would recommend!

Going by where i am coming from, the difference is clearer than 7up. The in depth knowledge you receive is amazing, it is practical based so you get to actually see and do. The instructors are awesome with an amazing attitude. The culture if friendly with an atmosphere that gives room to learning and constructive criticism. I can go on and on, There is the career assistance after graduation and the link with organizations in the industry which has helped some of us get jobs even before graduation. There is always room for improvement but Trebas is a good place to learn.

Its a great experience and chapter of my life having completed my education at Trebas Institute, Department of Audio Engineering / DJ arts. The instructors were very supportive and the information given was outstanding, the positivity in the environment and passion for bringing out the best in their student was ground-breaking. I recommended a few of my friends and I am proud to be a part and product of Trebas institute . The Career Co-ordinator ( Dora Juhasz ) was very helpful in giving vital information to student both before and after graduation to elevate our skills and move to the next level in our careers.. Trebas Institute is a second home for me , the network of friends with similar interest I made, the ever ready instructors and other students made it a rewarding experience.. Trebas Institute is the best and the forward way to advancing your skills and work ethics in all audio related projects and field of entertainment.

I graduated from Trebas recently and was very happy with my decision to attend the school. I loved every minute of it! The instructors are very cool, friendly and know the industry, and if you make the effort to learn, they will go above and beyond for you too. The instructors were always there for extra help, and even helped with finding me jobs. It wasn't always easy, but the hard work was worth it in the end. I got a job in the events/live sound industry and I couldn't have done it without Trebas!

The only regret I have attending Trebas - was not downloading my mix of Bohemian Rhapsody from Darius’ class. Which I am extremely proud to say - I received ?. An educational experience I will never forget. I persevered and graduated. *mic drop*! ILY
