Travel Guardian Insurance - Edmonton

I highly recommend this company, my grandma was told she wouldn’t be able to get travel insurance to go to Asia, which would have been her last chance to go. Travel Guardian reviewed her medical history and got the proper supporting documentation and determined they could cover her. Because of this company she has been able to go to Asia twice to see her family. Thanks Travel Guardian!

My husband Rae and I have had Ashley Kantz as our travel insurance broker for many years and have always been very happy with her professional service. That especially came to a head when the Canadian government closed the borders in March/20 because of Covid. Our insurance was in place till the end of April, so we chose to stay put in Nevada until then. We did contact Ashley several times to double check that we were still covered as MANY of my snowbird friends had they travel insurance cancelled by their insurance companies immediately and they had to scramble home. Ashley told me that we were covered till the end of April. I did contact her to see if we could get an extension. She told me that she was going to be laid off the following day but that we could get the extension. That same day before she could put it through we found out that the extension would not happen as the insurer decided that day to stop all extensions, but she told me to keep on trying. After she left, I dealt with a gentleman named Allan, who was one of only several people in the office holding down the fort. He told me that he was dealing with dozens of people trying to get back to Canada and was being deluged with emails, so if I did need to contact him, to call and leave a message and he would call me back as it would take him much longer if i had emailed him, which he did every time I left a message for him. He was always very kind and professional and when I called him weekly during the months of March and April to see if he had heard if we could get an extension, he would always tell me that he hadn't heard anything, that everything was in flux but to call back the following week. With only 10 days left in April, I called him and asked him again if he had heard anything, he told me he hadn't even though he had emailed the insurer, so instead of just leaving it like that, he made a point of calling the insurer and checked on it for us and low and behold they gave us the extension. We were just thrilled with that news. I want to thank Allan and Ashely for their professionalism and also Travel Guardian who deal with insurers who stand by their policies and not cancel them prematurely as many of my friends had when the government starting closing everything down. I had friends who received calls from their travel insurer telling them that they 2 days to get home as their policies were being cancelled a month or 2 early. That is terrible business practice. We were very lucky.

We have come to rely on her professional knowledge and caring attitude. We have recommended her to many of our friends , and will continue to do so. We call ourselves the frequent travellers that have used Travel Guardian (Ashley Kantz) to obtain cancellation and medical insurance for international travel. Our experience has been excellent, Travel Guardian has always been able to provide coverage for our requirements enabling us to travel feeling confident we have the coverage we need with no surprise exclusion clauses exempting us from coverage. Ashley and other staff we have interacted with are consistently very polite, helpful and competent responding to our inquiries in a timely manner.

Called in for insurance and was told what we were looking for did not exist and we ended up getting what we wanted with the same provider through a different agency. Do not rely on this agency to have knowledge to help you with your insurance needs, a true disappointment. I would have given it a zero rating if that was an option

Then with the pandemic they were flexible with our changes in plans as things have been changing frequently due to travel restrictions and have always been easy to work with.
