About Town of Lemberg

Lemberg Saskatchewan Canada is a progressive little community tucked away on Highway 22, a leisurely drive from the hustle and bustle of city life in Regina or Yorkton.

Customs, traditions and work ethic brought to the area by the early pioneers are integrated with modern technology to add to the lifestyle of our community.  Originally settled by German speaking settlers, Lemberg quickly became the home to a variety of settlers and became a village July 12, 1904 and later incorporated as a town Sept 1, 1907.

Agriculture has been the mainstay of the community since the early days of Motherwell and later James Gardiner.  While in the Lemberg area, be sure to visit local farms to see how technology has progressed from threshing machines to global positioning systems used by today’s farmers.

There is something for every season in Lemberg.

In spring, Culture Shock provides adult drama written and produced by local residents.  The performances are a must to see and/or participate in. Another one of many events is the annual spring event Agri-Dinner hosted by the Lemberg Rink Board.  This is always guaranteed to be a hit with excellent local as well as international entertainment.

In summer and autumn, Lemberg has a walking path in the R.C. church grounds, walking trails and coulees that house a variety of birds and native wildlife for outdoors enthusiasts.  The Lemberg area is famous for its nesting grounds for waterfowl, attracting naturalists and hunters from across the province and the United States.
Lemberg also has a fly-in breakfast at the Air Strip which is held every August and The Lemberg Friendship Club Annual Show & Shine "Show Your Ride" Event is also in August.

Winter brings its own fun to Lemberg with open areas for snow fun, beautiful scenery, curling, hockey, figure skating and minor hockey.

Lemberg offers something for every age group with many clubs and organizations.  A very active senior’s group and Lions Club are just two with recreational activities for seniors and families, offering lots to entertain you and the community.

There are many unique buildings to be explored in the area.  The old churches, historic buildings in town and farms in this area are a haven for historians.

The town celebrates it's new Community Complex Recreation Center.  It boasts two-lane, five pin bowling alley, pool tables, table tennis, shuffleboard, foosball table and a fun, relaxing place to spend playing cards, setting together puzzles or having a coffee with friends socializing.

The Library in the Complex Center makes it convenient to get a good book to read or use the computer to get on the Internet.

Our high school shares the honor of being one of the most progressive schools in the province.  Scholastic standards are very high and technology is a key ingredient in our education program.

Lemberg offers affordable, comfortable housing for retirement with low cost Senior Social Housing Units.

The volunteer Fire Department, with 3 units, is always ready and The First Responders are highly trained and committed for your safety.

We enjoy a faith community that is represented by four churches, the Catholic, Lutheran, Pentecostal, United and inter-church.

Our town has a quantity of town and rural businesses, along with clubs and organizations that support the many needs of Lemberg and the surrounding area.

Come visit the quiet, peaceful and friendly town of Lemberg and enjoy our hospitality, you may wish to stay.
