So go apply, volunteer, or just try the Y. There's lots to give and lots to gain.
You won't regret it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dear Management, please kindly pay some attention to your swimming pool and recreation staff and management at the Grocevenor location. Their supervising/management style may result in a visitor injury, trauma or a legal motion. Some of the swimming pool attendants are making inappropriate comments about visitors: joking about their body shape, ability to swim, physical ability. I dont find their comments appropriate, funny/entertaining nor will let this matters unattended. As they represent YMCA, I will escalate this issue further, to make sure that your swimming attendant staff is well trained, and YMCA is a safe environment.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Has anyone really looked at the senior structure of this organization? It's so top heavy that it's ridiculous. As a staff person, I'm being told constantly by my "leaders" how it's budget budget budget! and how we don't have the budget for certain things like a decent compliment of support staff. Right! We don't have staff to cover basic centre needs but we have money to promote people to yet ANOTHER SVP title. Seriously, look at how many SVPs this place has. The job compensation model is a joke for 95% of the staff in the organization. The top richest 5% gets to tell the other 95% that there's no budget. Gimmie a break. My centre was sold recently and I'm probably going to be out of a job in 5 years, but by that time we'll probably have another 20 SVPs.
