★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great place for reading and studying. But some people are little bit not friendly when I am asking them about library services. I felt they are not welcome, that made me upset for 1 hour :).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Honestly, Toronto can do better. There are some great services available (many rare editions, a computer Commons, a wall of TVs, and a creative-media space) but overall the place is rundown, dirty and the staff are not very friendly. The architecture is practically disfunctional with too much space wasted by the hollowed-out center with skylights. It's very frequently noisy and the photocopiers are hard to find or out of service. The big bonus is the music-lending library! They used to have a piano for people to review scores, but there is no overall organization for this service and it seems to have been abandoned. Art exhibits here tend to be mediocre but there are several respectable literary programs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It’s one of Toronto’s biggest libraries and definitely a favourite for all, it is clean spacious and definitely has a lot of references to peruse from. 5 floors all curated. You see everyone from students studying, researchers, to just the guy who wanted to relax and charge their phone. Everyone is respectful and there’s always an event you can stop by as encouraged.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful large library staffed by rude guards and visited by unruly homeless people. Guards walk around policing covid masks like they're guards in a concentration camp. They expect you to drink water with your mask on even if you are on a table in a corner by yourself.
